Don't worry, she wouldn't expect anyone to be. She's the assistant. Her boss, Jane Foster, is known to the world. How is this possible? Well, Jane happens to be romantically involved with a man that's basically believed to be a God of Norse Mythology. His name is Thor. Everyone knows of Thor. He's an addition to the Avengers. God of Thunder, son of Odin, the hero. He's famous! Jane and Thor have been dating for a while now, even though they've actually spent more time apart than actually being together. Thor is from Asgard, another planet. When he's not around, Jane frequently vents her frustration to anyone that's available to lend an ear. Sadly, this position has been filled by little ol' Darcy. She doesn't have much of a choice. Jane's rants are not so difficult, in all honesty. Darcy's worst nightmare is when the depression finally knocks Jane into an uncontrollable, sobbing, emotionally distraught woman. Darcy genuinely tries to be a comforting friend and source of support for Jane, but it's not always successful. "You don't understand, Darcy!" Jane screamed, separating herself from Darcy's embrace. "It's not like your boyfriend went missing to another planet and hasn't returned!" Jane's words were not intended to sound so harsh. She didn't want to attack Darcy, but emotions got the best of her. After enduring her limit, Darcy abandoned Jane in her time of need. If she hadn't of left so quickly, more heartbreaking screams would have been exchanged. Darcy did the only thing she could. Got into her jeep and simply drove for hours. Sunlight's rays warmed her chilled skin as the massive orb of golden light rose into the sky. Darcy knew she'd have to return back to the base soon. Despite the sickening churning inside her stomach. Jane would be a complete mess by now and Darcy's obligation to her friend's well being was strong enough to even override her own hurt feelings. Darcy has been accused of being many things, but never selfish. Especially not when someone is already weakened. Before she returned, Darcy decided to stop by a local grocery store and collect some ingredients for breakfast. Surely Jane would have a stirring hunger in her gut by now. Crying often increases someone's appetite. Darcy bought a few things from the store, including a Starbucks cuppa coffee and walked along the street to her parked Jeep. Happening to glance down at her watch and see that it was only six o'clock in the morning, Darcy wasn't in any hurry to get back. Kneeling down to the ground for a moment, Darcy sat herself on the parking lot's curb and sipped idly at her drink, just trying to pass the time. The New Mexico's landscape her only source of entertainment.
