[row]Belisendé Daybreak | Fortress' South Side[/row][cell] Bel watched as her arrow struck home, lodging itself deep into the brigand's arm. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop him, and the man continued making his way toward the wyvern rider and her current companion - a Raven, if she recalled correctly. The little effect her attack had on the man was beginning to affect Bel's enthusiasm, though she lined up another shot regardless. Before she could follow through, movement from the corner of her eye stopped her, and the girl turned her head just in time for an enemy's arrow to slash open her cheek. Stinging pain bloomed on the side of her face, and she quickly brought a hand up to swipe at the blood slowly running from the wound. Her first battle wound, and it drove her mind into a spiral. This was a bad idea! I have to keep going. But I can't! I need to help everyone else... they can handle it themselves. I shouldn't run away! I need to retreat before I'm hurt even worse! I can't do this after all, I... I'm out of my depth...! It was as though the cut had deflated Bel of all the hot air the Prince had instilled her with. She was still a rookie, yet she was acting recklessly - the nerves of first battle weren't enough to excuse that. The young Imperial gripped the reins of her horse tightly to keep from shaking, and below her Sunbeam stamped a heavy hoof on the ground to get her attention. Once again brought out of her thoughts by the horse (and really she would have to pamper the hell out of him soon, because he'd been doing that so much more than she should have needed it), Bel refocused on the battle. The mage woman's attack had been effective, and she watched one of the archers fall from the fortress' window. The rider grew her eyes back up, spotting the archer that shot at her and finding he was currently still aiming in her direction. The brigand released his hold on the bowstring and his arrow flew forward. Panicked by full of self-preservation, Bel cracked her horse's reins and spurred Sunbeam to jump to the right and out of the arrow's path. The weapon nicked the horse's flank, not doing much damage but making the animal snort angrily all the same. That archer would prove a problem, it would be best to help the mage out in dealing with them. Riding closer to the fort as the enemy made to draw another arrow from his quiver and nock it, Bel raised her own bow and took careful aim at the men through the open window. A little quicker to calm down this time, Bel let her arrow fly directly for the enemy archer's face.
