The silence lasted peacefully, until pounding footsteps, a barking dog, and a tiny demihuman child rushed towards them. She let out a gasp of fear and dropped the mop out of shock. Her first instinct was to grab a nearby knife and hold it tightly. Her mind raced with fear; had the dragolich found them? Was it Aklenroth's army, or the Dark Fairies and Elves? Her hands shook, while sparks emanated from her fingers. The odd scene played out, too fast for her to react: the tiny child jumped on Rei's shoulders and then onto the bookcase. How did this boy break into Kenia's estate? She didn't have time to ask due to Malachi coming in; only to demand that Rei and her produce a reasonable explanation. He had the nerve to blame them? She scowled at him as if to say 'really?' Kenia followed behind and beckoned the Demihuman child down to explain to them. Cora gently pulled Rei away from the chaos. The last thing they needed was for the child to use his shoulder as a springboard again. Her mind raced: now, there was another being in this land that knew Kenia and Malachi were hiding humans here. The anxiety and fear was rising quick inside of her. She glanced at Rei with wide eyes and tried to communicate her thoughts to him. Next, she glanced back at Malachi and Kenia to address them. "We didn't have anything to do with this child coming in. We were cleaning and sadly, we were almost finished." She gestured to the child with a loud, exasperated sigh. "That is, until this one came in." Her voice was gentle and kind, as not to alarm the boy despite her irritation. Next, Corvina addressed Rei. Her expression while the flames disappeared. "Are you all right?" Concern filled her eyes for her friend's well-being. She had grown to care for these three and the thought of their group being attacked had alarmed her. The memories of the dracolich still hung in the back of her mind. She swallowed and set her hands in her pocket to try quelling her nerves. Her heart was still racing.
