"Thanks for the ride mate!" Conrad hopped down from the back of a truck he had been riding in for the last few hours- some farmer on his way to get a tractor part that had been headed towards Brightwell. He took a deep breath, smelling the spring air. He had been invited to some kind of gathering here of other gifted people, which was interesting- and currently, on break from work, that meant he had a lot of free time to investigate interesting things... Besides, it had been a year or two since Conrad had been to the United States. It had been quite the adjustment, figuring out how to use magic. Best he could figure, magic was actually quite common, just inaccessible to a lot of folks. It had taken him the longest time to get used to seeing magic- some other people could, many couldn't, whether they did magic or not. Oddly inconsistent thing, magic was. It was a relief he had the tools to help control it a bit. He took another breath, looking around. A magical tether seemed to be pulling him towards a random direction in town- maybe not so random, as this other random guy on the phone had a similar tether going the same direction. It could be a signal. It could also be a magical trap that was trying to lure either of them in. Sometimes that is how it was. He quickly walked towards the other man as he hung up his phone. "Hello there, I think we are headed the same way- if you know what I mean." Conrad winked at the man. "Name's Conrad Helmsman. Don't suppose you would have extra room in that there car to take me wherever it is we're going?" This could go one of two ways- either the guy would know what he was talking about or he wouldn't. In the first case, he may say yes or no and no harm is done. The second case, the guy could awkwardly say no, or even worse say yes. In that last case, well apologies would be in order.
