Nor is it Joel’s. The dry feeling in my mouth tells me that I indulged a bit much. What do I remember? Siobhan lifted a hand to her head pushing her thick hair off her face and she realized she wasn’t actually wearing much of anything. Blushing she sat up on her elbows and shook her hair out. Immediately dizzy she stopped and groaned softly. Flashes of last night came back to her. Luggage carts used in a rally race. Where she dropped a napkin to start the race and giggling ran for cover. Singing all the drinking songs that most anyone could think of. Cheering on Joel as he finished off something called Das boot. She danced with anyone who had asked. She’d left the sexy moves for Joel thought. She gave him the look all night and he was the only recipient of that look. She’d almost eaten him alive when they got to their room. He’d done nothing to discourage her behavior which only heightened her daring. Reenacting the scene from True Lies that everyone remembers from that movie. Okay so there wasn’t a four poster bed so she’d improvised to the strains of Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah) by Joan Jett of all things. The resulting scene was… well there weren’t enough words invented for the description of that. She recalled how she had woke Joel up later for round… well it was more than two… or three. She had been shameless. Joel didn't seem to mind, the reverse in fact. He’d encouraged it. Sighing contentedly she stretched and then remembered how truly drunk she’d been. Drunk enough to fall into speaking Czech. Siobhan covered her face and groaned as she remembered what she said. Well she’d leave the ball in his court. She had no intention of lying to him so if he asked about it she’d tell him. Pushing the thought aside she slowly rolled over to see the object of her thoughts grinning up at the ceiling. Siobhan ran her nails lightly up Joel’s arm and found that she wasn’t so dizzy anymore as she leaned up on her elbow looking at him. Grinning she leaned over and planted a scorching kiss on him. “I’ll start the shower, you start the coffee and come join me.”
Much later…
Siobhan looked at the six pack of Blue Moon she had grabbed as she walked out of the grocery store. Knowing the drive was short enough to keep the beer cold on the way home she didn't worry about it one bit as she sang along to Hot Blooded by Foreigner. The music cranked up to just under damaging. Foreigner’s hits just seemed to go with her mood since the party. Which didn't really mean much more than she was stoked about something. Kissed, and more, by an all around hot guy that is your boyfriend kinda makes one excited. Siobhan watched as the rain was starting to be more than a drizzle. Her black combat boots snug on her feet. Her black leggings on a vibrant red long sleeved tunic shirt and the splurge purchase she'd bought in London years ago; a black wool trench. The trench had served her well over the past five years when she'd needed it. A black newsboy cap finished off the outfit. As she turned down her street Kiss by Prince came on and she grooved to the music as she got out of the car. She smoothly transferred the music to headphones. Humming the song to herself she got to her front door and unlocked it. Getting in she left the door unlocked and ordered a pizza, well two just in case as Feels Like The First Time by Foreigner played. Moving the music to the stereo system she pulled out her headphones and started moving her canvas of the festival into the spare room. It was close to done so no harm in storing them. There was no helping the nightscape of the City from the roof of City Hall, she couldn't move it. She'd risk smearing the oils. It was Joel halfway in shadow with the lights off to his left and disappearing off the canvas. She had multiple light sources and different colors for them. She was quite proud of the painting but wasn't sure how he'd take it. Sometimes you had to do a piece for yourself. Siobhan shrugged out of the trench tossing it on the end of the couch. She was concentrating on the unfinished painting as she pushed up her sleeves and put her hair in a ponytail. As she called out to Alexa. “Alexa play album Imaginarium by Nightwish.” Alexa did as requested and the strains of the Nightwish, best described as a blended mix of Celtic and Metal, came across the sound system. Siobhan was quickly sucked into the painting and grabbed a round detail brush and started blending colors for her light sources that reflected onto several surfaces in the painting. Siobhan had come home after the party and decided that the two of them were going to chill tonight. Pizza and beer. Only a small quantity of beer. It was fairly far from being time for dinner and Joel had needed to get some things from the shop, tidy up, what not. She grinned at him and told him she needed to work on a piece but the door was unlocked. Nightwish sang in Swedish as the doorbell rang in a rapid fire barrage and Siobhan was lucky enough that she didn't have the brush on the canvas at the time. If that was the pizza guy she might entertain visions of tossing him off the second story balcony. He'd survive. “Alexa zàntíng.” Siobhan said. “I'm sorry I don't recognize that language, was that Mandarin? Would you like me to change language to Mandarin?” Apparently she was so flustered she'd said that in Mandarin. “No, volume five, Alexa. It's open!!” She called out over her shoulder cleaning off the brush and tucking it behind her ear. Grabbing an angle brush and mixing colors to create a green that exactly mirrored the color of a traffic light she was absorbed back into her work. The green glow was reflecting on the hair and the wall. It was a three quarter profile with the subject, Joel. Hearing the door click open she scrapped the color into a container and capped it. Cleaning the brushes and placing them bristle side up. Extending pegs she flipped a sheet over the painting covering it but far enough away so as not to touch it. “Hang on a second. Cash is on the counter but...oh.” Turning around Siobhan saw Joel and grinned.
