The omelette in question was my first try at a traditional Japanese omelette, too. Folding it together is a tad difficult, especially for someone making it for the first time, but it was pretty good. Adding sugar was an odd but somewhat okay choice but apparently Japanese omelettes are supposed to be sweet like that.
