[indent]Slightly taller than his peers at 5'11, his lanky body weighs in at around 66kg, although the latter fluctuates quite often as Minase finds it difficult to gain weight. His fair complexion blends with the palish nuances in his skin tone. While his frame is on the slimmer side, he is actually quite athletic because of his natural traits; his lack of application is a personal choice. Light yellow eyes overlook his frequent lackadaisical expression. Minase prefers to wear comfortable attire outside of the traditional school uniforms, although he is an avid buyer of expensive clothing and accessories.[/indent]

[indent]Minase has a perpetual gloomy outlook on life, viewing it as an endless cycle of boredom without an end. Outside of the odd day or two, the boy is unable to find excitement in everyday life, finding that searching for the latter is too exhausting. While he is not actually lazy with school or work, he seldom applies himself due to the lack of a spark, often finding that he is simply 'going through the motions' every day.

His abrasive, aloof, and direct manner of approach makes it hard for Minase to establish lasting friendships. Sometimes, he has trouble communicating his true thoughts, and they unintentionally come off as a blunt and rude statement; something like comforting someone could easily turn into "Get over it." He doesn't exactly mean to come off as a mean person, but refuses to admit either or. With no real plans for his future, Minase spends much of his money and time in various activities around the city in order to stay away from his home for as long as possible, notably addicted to the games at the arcade.

The little friendships that Minase has are mostly those with the student council, and is faithful in his bond with its president. His student council duties are among the few times where people may see his animated self, as he takes his role of 'the school's warden' quite seriously.[/indent]

[indent]Born in the city of Naha in Okinawa Prefecture, Minase Kohaku was still very young when his family relocated to Osaka on the Japanese mainland. An only child to loving parents, he was a considerably happier and brighter boy during this time period, where he excelled in academics. Although his interests extended to sports activities, he was not allowed due to being born with a condition that caused him to bruise and bleed easily than others. His father was a pilot for the Japanese Air Force who also flew commercial flights for airlines outside of his military career. His mother had been working two jobs at the time when she met his father during her bartending stint, deciding to pursue her nursing career full-time after they were engaged.

His joy-filled life, among plenty of others, would take a turn for the worst when the American invasion of Japan followed the Great East Japan Earthquake. His father was called into service as the country attempted to mount a desperate defense against their invaders, and Minase was frequently transported from one city shelter to another as they suffered through all of the fighting. It was only after the ceasefire was signed that the nine year old was reunited with his father; in the form of an erected memorial to the lives that were lost. His relationship with his mother became increasingly distant as she never remarried, but instead, exchanged vows with bottles of alcohol.

In lieu to the damages inflicted upon much of Japan's infrastructure, Minase and his mother were moved to Nashiro to live with his aunt, and once school was reopened, the boy coasted through his last years of elementary school and his first year of junior high school in relative silence. It was during his second year of junior high school when he met his best friend, and a few years later, they would become members of Hyakusawa Academy's Student Council. His loyalty to his best friend and staunch approach to his duties have led other students to call him the Warden.[/indent][/hider]
