That's because this portal I just opened is actually [i]several[/i] portals squished together between a bunch of dimensions. Until I navigate my way through this mess and give a tug on the string, you'll have a pretty low likelihood of being able to follow me and an exponentially larger one of getting spit out into some random dimension instead.
