	Laika’s Customized Scutson doesn’t deviate too drastically from the base model Scutson. It retains the same bright construction worker-orange as almost every other Scutson currently in the Martian/Venusian workforce. If it weren’t for large spiked shoulder shields on the shoulders, the visibly spiked grappling hook arms on the Hazard Gear, and the fang baring dog ‘nose art’ on the fixed frontal 'head' of the Scutson it’d almost be able to blend right in. Almost. Though somewhat crude the 'nose art' applied to the rounded protrusion serving in place of the 'head of the Scutson it appears rather menacing when viewed from the front or side, like the large open maws of some kind of feral dog.

	[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Spiked Liten Shoulder Shields[/b][/u][/color] 
	Fitted to the normally bare shoulder hardpoints of Laika's Scutso are a pair of plasteel coated, hardened Litened plates surving as make-shift shoulders. These shoulder shields are fitted with sharpened, jutting spikes welded onto them. Though not particularly large they offer good protection from attacks to the side, and allow Laika to turn the Scutson's troso and angle the shields to take frontal attacks. They also have the added benefit of enhancing the Scutson's melee abilities, making mere shoulder tackles into deadly attacks capable of penetrating armor with the right weight and speed behind them. They are make-shift however and the materials can only take so much punishment before succumbing to damage.  

	[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Plasteel Armor[/b][/u][/color] 
The plasteel armor on Laika’s custom Scutson is largely the same. Though she made some token attempts to reinforce the armor and strengthen it in places, her limited tools and even more limited funds prevented her from doing anything significant. Its slightly more resilient to powder weapon damage and tougher than a standard Scutson’s frame, with the same corrosive resistance, but otherwise still largely ineffective. 

	[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Ejection system[/b][/u][/color] 
	Laika properly activated the ejection system on-board her Scutson, allowing her to safely eject from the mobile worker should it become heavily damaged or on the verge of being destroyed. As per standard procedure the cockpit ejects out the back of the Scutsons, ejecting any back equipment and launching the cockpit away from the Scutson via a small rocket system. 

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Modified Hazard Gear[/b][/u][/color] 
	Similar to what she worked with during the four years she spent going from industrial job to industrial job, Laika’s custom Scutson is fitted with stolen Hazard Gear. Four thrusters, two mounted to the lower parts of the legs near the ankles and two mounted on the thighs. Fitted onto the back are a pair of smaller waldo-arms with grappling launchers which angle over the shoulders to fire. Laika has modified the thrusters to the best of her ability to get more thruster out of them, allowing her to more properly over or ‘skate’ around under gravity and give her some proper speed in space. The grappling launchers now feature crudely bladed grappling hooks better suited for stabbing into other mobile suits. 

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Extra Hardpoints [/b][/u][/color] 
	Since most of the Scutson's regular hardpoints were taken up by her Hazard Gear and shields, Laika worked to add four more hardpoints to the Scutson. Placing to additional ones on the back and two more on the legs, allowing her to store weapons, ammo, and other important items there as she acquires them.

[h3][b][u]Handheld Armaments[/u][/b][/h3]
[color=F0E68C][u][b]•75mm Submachine Gun[/b][/u][/color] 
	In illegally produced, workshop blackmarket SMG chambered for 75mm rounds. Fitted with a flash suppressor, pistol grip, and an 80 round drum magazine, the weapon if fairly small in size (for an MS) and easy to use one handed. The weapon's high rate of fire makes it ideal for close quarters combat and firing on the move. In fact, its [i]only[/i] really suited for close quarters combat as the shoddy rifling gives the weapon miserable accuracy over distance. Two extra drum magazines are strapped to the Scutson. 

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Nanocarbon Axe[/b][/u][/color]
	A single bladed axe with a handle long enough to be used single handed or with both hands. Often used as an emergency tool for search and rescue work, the blade is sharp enough and durable enough to be used as a deadly weapon. Its bladed side can chop through armor while its backside can be used as a bludgeoning weapon. Kept on the Scutson’s rear, Laika keeps the axe on hand as a secondary melee weapon for when her Chainsaw inevitably gives out. [h3][b][u]Fixed Armaments[/u][/b][/h3]

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Nanocarbon Chainsaw[/b][/u][/color] 
	Run by a high-power electric engine, the Nanocarbon Chainsaw is a forearm mounted tool reserved for cleanup and salvage work. Designed to cut through heavy plates and wrecked ship hulls the chainsaw was fitted with finely sharpened nanocarbon teeth to allow it to clean cut through most conventional materials. Though taking a few moments to spin up the chainsaw is an unintended but fearsome melee weapon capable of chewing through armor and even the weaker melee weapons of enemies. However powerful it is however it wasn't intended to be used for combat, and as such too much wear and tear can snap the chain and render the weapon useless. It is mounted on the right fore-arm of Laika's Scutson, with the saw blade collapsed until activated for use. 

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•30mm Vulcan[/b][/u][/color] 
	A single 30mm Vulcan assembly installed into the right side of the Scutson’s chest, stolen and installed by Laika. It's useless against the armor of proper mobile suits, but can shred lightly armored targets and shoot down incoming projectiles. 

[color=F0E68C][u][b]•Smoke Grenades [/b][/u][/color] 
	Three crudely made, stick-grenade style smoke grenades that erupt into clouds of heavy dense orange smoke. Able to provide brief cover and weaken energy weapons for a short period of time. [h3][b][u]Strengths and Weaknesses[/u][/b][/h3]
	On the surface the customizations to Laika’s Scutson seem pretty minimal, essentially just some metal slapped onto the shoulders of a mobile worker and some minor tweaks. Outside of the armor stuck to its shoulders the Scutson isn’t anymore protected as it was before. However the armaments it carries and the tweaks made to its hazard gear makes it extremely dangerous in close combat. While the shields add extra weight the boost to thruster output from the Hazard Gear makes it a moot point, even under gravity.

	Laika’s Custom Scutson can ‘skate’ around using the Hazard Gear's thursters to hover and use the additional weight for devastating rams and tackles. Pulling enemies into melee range and tearing into them using her chainsaw or her axe. The machine allows Laika to focus on what she’s good at and minimize the shortcomings of the Scutson. 
[color=B22222][h2][u][b]Technical History[/b][/u][/h2][/color]
	Before Cathrida sent Laika away she gave her and her caretaker, her former chief engineer, instructions on what to do while she was away. Laika never learned what the former engineer posing as her ‘uncle’ was told to do, but Cathrida’s instructions for her were very straight forward: 

	“Stay out of trouble and prepare something to fight with by the time I come back”.

	So Laika did just that. She stole methodically planned out the theft of a Scutson and hid it in one of the lower bowels of Habitat 34. Over the course of four years Laika stole whatever she could and used it to improve the Scutson. Apping up the Hazard Gear, improving the penetrative spikes of the grappling arms, throwing on a pair of ships, and making whatever small tweaks she could think of.

	Laika want to do more but she simply had nothing to work with and not remotely as much time as she wanted due to having to work. When her ‘uncle’ passed away she spent the remaining month of rent money to buy a bargain bin blackmarket SMG, and moved into a capsule hotel where she basically lived in a crate. 

	After four years her Scutson had barely changed, but Laika didn’t have any more time to change it when someone familiar arrived to greet her...
