'The Gorgons' are an emergent criminal syndicate in Long Beach, they are the modern incarnation of the old mafia family once lead by the Giorginos before their big bust in the 60s - which saw that entire name imprisoned, and their lesser off-shoots reduced to only petty gangs. Pernelle Tano united those old left-overs and reformed the new group under its current name, most of the new blood coming from her delinquent high school clique in the 90s, but she was killed at the turn of the decade and succeeded by her eldest son, Jasper Tano. Jasper hugely expanded the group into the force it is today, buying off officers and establishing connections with cartels and gangs across the border. His efforts are a large part of what shaped the lawless elements of the city into the volatile hive it is today, opening doors even for those thugs and thieves not on his payroll.[/color]
