The Druid
Name: De'Kae N'nm. Her friends call her Kay. Age: 22 Gender: Female Appearance: Kay is wearing a traditional ritual garb of her people, the Druid Elves. All vibrant green and revealing skin, a majority of it is crafted from the Sun-Weave. A green, plant-like crop top shows off the enchanted tattoos around her navel and on the small of her back. A mini-skirt is cut in the front, and she wears two thigh-high, toeless, segmented greaves. She also has two gauntlets on. Her long black hair has been let down and tied into several dreads, and she has a bifurcated cape clasped around her neck. She also has an enchanted green tattoo on her forehead. There are markings like this on several parts of her body, including her arms, on her cheeks, and at the back of her neck. If it wasn't for her ostentatious outfit, the first thing one would notice about Kay is her massive ears, covered in green markings. They stick out proudly from the stands of her black hair. They quiver, move, and perk up, the ears having their own muscles that can be manipulated by the Druid Elf. Overall, her look is far more eyecatching than Kay would usually prefer. Normally a simple cloth tunic and pants tucked into boots would suffice, but the day she was taken was a special day and Kay wanted to show off the pride she had in her ancestry and culture. Shorter than most of her Druid Elf brethren, Kay stands at 5 feet and 8 inches tall. Fiery kindness burns within her, the kind that pursues evil with a vengeance, and grants those who seek it mercy and forgiveness. Protecting the people and places she cares about are top priority. She is sharp as a whip and tries to think her way out of most situations. Kay chooses to believe in the best of people, though whether this is born out of naivety or stubborness is hard to tell. Either way, The Druid tries to leave every place better than she found it. The Druid believes in forging friendships with those around her. To her, the most important thing in life is one's connections with others. Armaments: Sun-Weave: The armor Kay wears is surprisingly durable and light weight. They channel energy throughout her body. Even her bare skin projects a field of defensive energy equivalent to that of light armor. The Sun-Weave also helps to channel her powers more precisely. Tattoos: The tattoos on Kay's body light up whenever she activates a spell. They help her draw power from the nature around her. However, in order to do this they must be exposed to sunlight, or near another lifeform of any kind. Life-Weld: Kay is a wielder of a magical force call the Life-Weld. She draws it from within herself and from other living beings. The Life-Weldi s a skill she has built up over the course of her life and allows her many magical abilities. Heal: Upon placing her hands directly on the wound of an organism, Kay can restore the damage. She can do it slowly, or immediately, though the drain of healing people increases exponentially the faster she wants to heal. Due to the nature of the Life-Weld, she cannot directly heal herself. Structure: A common offensive and defensive form of the Life-Weld is structure. Out of thin air Kay can generate a kind of hard light. It is the same kind that automatically protects her body and is channeled by the Sun-Weave. She can use it to create a ten foot by ten foot wall, or a dome. She can use it to create a blade, spear, or shield. She can use it to create hand holds or platforms aswell. Blast: The same kind of hard light energy used to create Structure can also be concetrated into a blast. Whether it be a grenade like exploding ball that can bounce, or a beam of focused energy like an assault rifle, Kay can generate these attacks and use them at great ranges as long as her accuracy is good. Drain: Nature is just as much about death as it is life. While Kay is not as practiced in the field of Drain, it is something she is somewhat well versed with. Just as she can heal people with with a touch of her hands, she can also hurt them. It is one of her more powerful attacks, though she has to get close enough to touch the same spot on their bare skin for a significant amount of time. Draining someone uses up her energy, and the faster she wants to hurt her enemy the more energy it costs her. Keen Hearing: Her Druid Elf ears allow Kay incredibly advanced hearing. Biography: The Druid Elves of her homeworld are a persecuted race. Their rituals are believed by the Empire to be savage and barbaric. They are believed to be inherently inferior to the other races, tricksy, manipulative, and animalistic. As such the Druid Elves mostly keep to themselves in the temperate forests, but even those forest shrink with time. Most of the Druid Elves are afraid to do anything, and those that do fight spend their lives fighting their guerilla war against the Empire. Kay was born into this climate. She was one of the Druid Elves who wanted to fight, but the Senators of her village have taken a peaceful stance. Kay ran away from home and joined a band of guerillas when she was 16. She had spent most of her life learning how to use the Life-Weld at this point, and these years of guerilla warfare taught her to be even more skilled. She spent most of her time as a combat medic. The guerilla campaign failed, and Kay had a crisis of faith and identity. Unsure of what to do she fled west, far away from the Empire as she could possibly get. There she found a fishing town called Woodwater. It was a surprisingly large town, but being on the frontier it was dangerous to travel too. The village elders there took her in. They protected her for a while, and they taught each other many things. The townspeople got used to her and eventually a kinship was formed. Woodwater was a frontier village, and many wild beasts and monsters stalk the Western boundaries. She took it upon herself to repay their kindness by protecting Woodwater from the ravages of truly wild nature. She also acted as a village healer for the men and women wounded during hunts or monster attacks. It was here, on the frontier, that Kay managed to find some peace. Though one day she must return East and try to save her people...somehow. The village elders gave Kay a gift. A large box of leaves from the Sun-Weaver Plant. Grateful, Kay took them and crafted a traditional Druid Elf garment, and was in the middle of preparations for a Druid Elf holiday festival when her memories of Woodwater cease and her memories of the Gauntlet begin.

Name: Natalia Evergreen Age: 34 Gender: Female Appearance: Standing at 5'9, Natalia has an unmuscled, thin build. Her medium length black hair is perpetually tied up into a bun. In the Gauntlet, she's wearing a black tanktop, jeans, and white socks. No shoes. The first thing people would notice about her, though, is the light blue circle implanted directly into her chest. There is a similar, but smaller implement on her backside as well. Her left leg is missing from the knee down and there is no prosthetic. Natalia is paralyzed from the waist down, and cannot walk without her Powered Armor. She has a pencil tucked into her bun and a notepad in her backpocket. Natalia has wide blue eyes, a long, thin nose and lips with a sharp chin and jaw.

Personality: Natalia is a born sociopath and a born genius. She finds it impossible to relate with other people on an emotional level. When she was younger, she would often pretend, playing up her emotions and acting normal. Recently however she has given up that and simply behaves cold and indifferent. Saying harmful things comes easy, but if she wanted too she could flip on her happy switch and act like a humble, jokingly arrogant scientist. Natalia does not enjoy inflicting suffering on other living beings. Infact, she has a bizarre, self-imposed moral compass. Without emotion guiding her way, she decided to develop her own morality using logic instead. Though her internal logic is most likely vastly different to other people who decide to help others, on the outside she does many things a hero would do. Helping the weak and keeping promises. She is a worldy person, and acts in the way that would benefit the greatest good as she sees it. Altruism is beneficial in ways less obvious than selfishness, she concluded. Armaments: Powered Armor: Her most advanced suit of armor. A nine feet tall behemoth of a tank. It is heavily armored and capable of resisting small arms fire. Armor piercing rounds dent it and explosives leave a mark. It is incredibly strong and capable of lifting up to two tons of weight. Tool Box: Underneath the forearms of her machine are two toolboxes. They morph and shift into various weaponry. The most common forms are two Jackhammer like implements to increase punching power, and two heavy machineguns. They can also turn into a flamethrower, or arcs of electricity. ABI: Aritificial Base Intelligence, or ABI, is Natalia's personal AI assistant. A copy of ABI exists in her suit and can help her manage battle situations easier. It can also talk, and is Natalia's only friend. Micro-Rockets: The shoulders of the Powered Armor can open up and fire a volley of rockets. Nanotechnology: Nano technology can maintain the Powered Armor. With enough time, Natalia can take nearby sources of metal and change their shape into extra plates of armor, ammo, batteries, or other tools. Both Toolboxes need to be detatched and reassembled into an advanced 3D Printer in order for this to take place. They develop and sell weapons all across the world. Her father was the CEO of Evergreen incorporated. Neither of her parents were quite equipped to raise a child who had no access to her or each other's emotions. Natalia was hidden away from the public eye as much as possible. Wanting to fit in, Natalia faked her emotions for a long time and everything seemed okay. Whether Natalia was just spiteful, indifferent, or just extremely business oriented, it was her own company that went on to put Evergreen out of business. PAT Industries would go on to develop Natalia's now legendary Powered Armor suits that make up elite forces in the United States military. Artificial intelligence she had developed could have autonomously operated troopers and drones fight the battles for our soldiers- though the government couldn't get that particular tech through congress. Natalia keeps the best AI and Powered Armor suits for herself. This is where it would be best fitting to explain something about Earth. Aliens exist, and populate most of the galaxy. Earth would have been discovered long ago were it not for a special property of the Sun. A magic aura casts a cloak of invisibility around the entire solar system. Earth, the Sun, all of the planets, are completely invisible. The cloak goes both ways- the night time of Earth is completely pitch black save for the other planets in the Solar System and the occasional meteorite. Natalia has always wanted to pierce this veil, a veil she was convinced existed despite nobody in the scientific community believing her. Even if there was such a veil, how would we go about piercing it? Thus, Natalia began to develop a way to pierce the veil. It was a long process. Natalia secluded herself away from the world even more so than she already had. She had pushed away what little family she had long ago by taking up Evergreen's market shares with her advanced and superior designs. Nano bots were her newest invention, for example. Her quest to pierce the veil led her to developing a source of limitless energy to power her reactors and suit. That was when the attack happened. Using her own technology against her, a mysterious enemy took an attempt on Natalia's life. A drone that she had helped design was stolen and used in the attack. Surpassing her home's defences, the drone detonated behind Natalia as she peered through her telescope. Her left leg was blown off. Shrapnel pierced her soldier blades passed through her chest, rupturing her heart. Her spinal cord was shattered at the waist. Natalia died almost instantly. Her AI assistants managed to recusitate her using medical nano technology. However, even her advanced medical tech could not fully repair the damage done to her body. An artificial heart needed to be constructed. Natalia turned it into a power source and is the glowing metal tube that currently runs through her chest and back. Her remaining leg was unusable. This gave Natalia somewhat of an epiphany. Though Natalia survived her attack, the enemy who assassinated her got what they wanted as she no longer began selling weapons of any kind to the government, or anyone else for that matter. Instead she focused her funds entirely on her limitless energy, and her attempts on piercing the veil. Finally, she did it. For the briefest of moment she saw the stars. That was when her memories of her home lab stopped, and her memories of the gauntlet began.
