Name: Ariamis Gundaz Age: 128 Gender: Male Appearance: Ariamis is a short and stout man of around 3'8" in height with bronzed skin littered in scars and dark blonde hair. He wears hardened leather pants and a thick somewhat ornate tunic with a gap in most of the back accompanied by sturdy boots. Connected to his back is a relatively large metal contraption with multiple possible openings seeming to be fused into his back and spine though he shows no discomfort from it. He also appears to have a mechanical eye and arms though that is all that is visible. Personality: The dwarf is quite a serious and often stoic person to most as he rarely trusts them at first due to the nature of his being as well as the stigma it carries among common folks. He can be very resourceful and inventive, not to mention pragmatic, which first piqued his interest in making adjustments to himself for the better, in fact he has felt more himself ever since the new additions. Underneath it all he is a very curious man wanting to expand his knowledge of things and find ever more interesting and useful things in the world around him. Armaments: Mechanical Arms- Ariamis has replaced his own arms with rune covered metal ones that function in much the same way but are far more durable and much more painful than the original. He also has two extra pairs of extendable clawed arms from the contraption on his back allowing him to defend himself from multiple directions, channel some of his other modifications or simply to multitask. Mechanical Eye- His eye allows him to see in low light conditions, zoom in on something and can temporarily project light if need be for less fortunate companions. Sonic projector/Flamethrower/Acid nozzle/Coolant vent- In the center of the claws is an adjustable module that can be changed and loaded to suit a variety of offensive purposes whether the target needs to be stunned, burned, melted, or even frozen if it or they are small enough. It can also effect allies or the environment if either Ariamis or companions are not careful. Back loaded drill- On top of the contraption is an opening which allows a drill to poke over the dwarf's shoulder to either work on machinery or make his enemies hurt very badly if they are in close range. Charged claws- The extendable arms can be made to discharge electricity draining from the contraption's power core which needs time to recharge. Drones and Constructs- The way of the mechanist is one that often requires using any resource at hand and Ariamis is not opposed to using the remains of his enemies to create servitors of sorts if he has the supplies on hand. He can makes devices to animate the body as a servant or create a drone of sorts out of a skull to help him in his endeavors. Biography: Ariamis was the young son of a lowly craftsman, by Dwarven standards, who was exiled from his home in the hold of Dugoin while he was very young so unlike many of his kind he grew up among the humans and other races of the land. He often felt as if he was out of place being smaller than most and of a different mind to many of the people he talked with whether it was helping out around the forge or just wandering the different towns they visited on the way through to the next. His father never wanted to stay in one place and he was very much stuck in his ways even if they were what caused him so many problems no matter where they settled. The young Dwarf decided he was done with putting up with his waste of a parent, whom he had started to surpass in skill, and went off to figure out just who he wanted to be by himself. During this time he did what he had to when it came to putting food in his belly and a roof over his head mostly doing whatever work he could find but occasionally stealing to make ends meet. Eventually he was approached by a robed man who offered him a place to stay and a different path to follow rather than just be a vagabond he could be a Mechanist. It was tempting to him because all knew of the group of inventors who crafted wondrous constructs and could replace limbs of flesh with steel though he was a cautious man wanting to know what was to be expected of him. They wanted to see his skill and his passion first so he was brought to the man's enclave out in a remote cave system where they could work and talk in peace. It was a place of unity where all worked for a better future and to improve on oneself quite literally, if you could not do something simply make an apparatus to allow it. There had been no way for him to attain a better life so now he would make a way and so he did growing in renown and rank over the course of decades. He exceeded beyond his new master's expectations becoming one of his most diligent students and one who had taken the most to replacing parts of his body with machinery as it made him feel whole. He had recently been set out to find artifact that had come into notice of the enclave in an old tomb which was uncovered. It looked to be extremely valuable for research purposes and no doubt it would be better off in the hands of the Mechanist order than some other less savory organization. So down he went through monsters and undead residents until he came upon the final chamber that rested an iridescent orb which he went to retrieve when everything went dark. Now there is no tomb or artifact, only the Gauntlet.
