So very interested and working up a character, just a few questions.
I'll answer your questions in quotes to make it a little easier to breakdown and follow.
1. what is the standard fighter used in the Mandalrian Republic? I saw the cap ships but are we still using the ARC-170 starfighter, and the Z-95 Headhunter, or would your standard T-65B X-wing starfighter, and TIE line be in production yet? If the Ladder would the republic have x-wings as their design was just made as an update to the arc and headhunter fighters and the design was originally stolen from the empire by the rebels.
Yes. The answer is literally yes for the most part, as at the current moment Incom is overwhelmed with trying to fulfill orders from the Mandalorians, the Corellians and of course their parent republic the Alsakani. Mandalore makes do with some updated ARCs to serve as heavy fighters, stripped down Z-95s for scouting and such while their T-65s come in little by little. There are some negotiations underway for licensed production, but that's still being worked out. As for TIEs, we're still kind of working out on that aspect. SFS is a thing, they do have the TIEs in production and out there, but they are independent of any power and at the moment might be leaning towards association status with the Corporate Sector Authority. Could likely have the Empire utilize them heavily due to the cost and their dire need for more equipment of course.
2. My plan is to have a fighter pilot character (if it wasn't obvious from the first question) who was injured in a crash during a battle and such got himself some robot limbs. What sort of hidden addons would the Mandalorian Republic allow to be fitted into these prosthetic limbs (because hes broke and would have had government pay for some nice bling after getting injured in their service). What I am thinking is a hidden blaster kinda like the super battle droids and maybe, big maybe here an implanted AI / Astromech system that allows his astromech to remain in him, complete with a security spike for hacking purposes, with a shell unit in the ship in case of the need for emergency repairs and such.
I'm pretty on board with hidden weapons, as I've done that before with characters and it's always a good time. So by all means, as long as things aren't too over the top. The AI though less so, as I'm not entirely sure how such a thing would go down in the SW setting, and unsure if you could miniaturize the necessary components enough to implant the processors into the prosthetics and still have enough room in there for necessary functions.
And 3. Is there an ongoing struggle/war/skirmishes going on between the republic and other factions that could be the origin of the injury and if so how long has the fighting been gong on. If not I can make the injury come from fighting off some pirates or such
Yes, but also no. Mandalore operates on about six or so planets with constant training exercises, patrols their space for pirates and what not and aggressively defends their borders, but they aren't in an actual open conflict with anyone in particular just yet. The Hutts agitate against them constantly of course, but they're still bitter that they have to pay more for their Mandalorian mercs than before and that there's extra rules involved. What there is though, is the Banner. The Mandalorian Banners are essentially free companies that go out and are contracted to do military work for the various powers, namely the Empire against the CIS. That could have been where your guy got his injury, as the Empire never actually stopped fighting the Clone Wars.
