[sub]OoC[/sub]

How long do you usually write? Between one and several paragraphs depending on the needs of the scene. Do you enjoy writing collaborative posts for things like conversations, combat, etc.? Yes! But if it speeds up posting or we need to cut down the size of a collab I'm okay with individual posts. The collabs sometimes help with flow though. Is grammar and depth of writing important to you? I always try my best to have both passable grammar and enjoyable levels of depth in my writing! That said, I'm not really a hardliner for it in other people or a grammar nazi. As long as the people I'm writing with are fun it's all good. Are there any writing subjects you particularly enjoy exploring? Character growth and solid, story-and-character driven personal development over time. I also enjoy characters confronting and dealing with morally gray situations and changing from them, put a high priority on interactions between players and love writing action sequences! Investigations, politics, plus planning and counter-planning style intrigue are also favorites of mine. Is there anything you really dislike and want to avoid like the plague? Not really just ask me first, although I would prefer to avoid long stretches of time writing completely by myself as I feel it defeats the purpose of a roleplay for me. As usual auto-hitting, godmodding and dictating my character's reactions for me in any way without my consent are awful. Is there something you are uncomfortable with happening to your character? Just ask me first! Do you have any short-term or long-term goals with this character? Short Term - I wanna write fun, evil stuff with him and get to know other Sith characters and the Academy. Long Term- I want him to survive and grow in skill and power until at least reaching the Apprentice stage. It might also be cool for him to get to interact with his sister on opposite sides of the war and gain the attention of a Lord or other. Right now he has a lot of specialized skills but except for crafting droids none of them are particularly developed or static. I wanna see who he becomes over time.

Name: Haiki Benara Species: Zabrak Homeworld: Iridonia Age: 12 Gender: Male Rank: Sith Acolyte Master: Former master(s): Apprentice(s): Sphere of influence:

[sub]Short description of candidate.[/sub]
Acolyte Benara is about five feet tall and whipcord thin and almost delicate looking. His highly dense bones and increased pain tolerance mean he's heavier and more durable than he seems, but his almost chalk-pale skin and soft violet eyes add to the visual impression of weakness. When he does smile, it's a a predatory, almost shark-like slash of a grin thanks to his bright white pointed teeth. He often has dark rings under his eyes from late nights studying or working on modifications or repairs for his droid. He generally wears clothing typical of a Sith Acolyte, often stained with oil and rumpled from mechanical work.
[sub]Simplified report on known Force techniques and estimated levels.[/sub]
Basic Skills Telekinesis (Basic) Telekinetic Defense (Basic) Force Push (Basic) Force Speed (Novice) Force Jump (Novice) Force Sight (Novice) Force Sense (Novice) Mind Trick (Basic) Precognition (Novice) Force Choke (Basic) Basic Talents Mecha-Deru - One of Haiki's most notable and well-developed gifts is his ability to meld use of the force with machines. He has a natural knack and connection for both building and disassembling machines, specializing in droids. After enough encouragement in class He even built his own droid based on scavenged parts and a droid brain from a Utility Droid. J4N4 or Jana is a guardian, companion and tool for Haiki and only the first of his planned creations. Sith Alchemy - Acolyte Benara is still a complete beginner at Alchemy but does seem to have a natural knack for the dark art. He's greedily absorbed every scrap of information on the subject he's been given and thus far is always the fastest in his class to reproduce a given experiment. As of yet there is no official proof that Haiki has attempted any experiments on his own. But given his ambitions it may only be a matter of time.
[sub]Simplified report on other known skills and estimated levels, including lightsaber training.[/sub]
Basic Trained Skills Tactics and Strategy Statecraft and Governing Basic Survival Skills - Desert, Woodland, Arctic, Basic Medical Skills Basic Sith Philosophy Basic Imperial History Basic Knowledge of Toxins Basic Knowledge of Anatomy Basic Torture and Interrogation skills Basic Talent Skills History- Thanks to both his unusually good memory and a passionate teacher in the form of Corinth, Haiki has a love and knowledge of history beyond average for an Acolyte his age. He's especially curious about the Sith and Jedi of ages past along with the battles they engaged in and any objects they've left behind. As might be expected he also has a particular love for the history of droid design. Mechanical Engineering - Beyond Mecha-Deru, Haiki is just mechanically apt in general and is easily capable of assembling small gadgets and building and modifying droids by himself given time and resources. Martial Arts - His least developed talent, Haiki has a natural aptitude for martial arts and unarmed combat in general but rarely takes his training seriously. He's gotten to the point where until recently he could beat classmates without doing much training or studying himself, although his skill advantage is quickly disappearing and he's lost several training bouts recently. Lightsaber Combat Djem-So (Basic) Niman (Basic) Other Increased Pain Tolerance - Because of his Zabrak biology Haiki has a naturally high tolerance for pain and can endure through punishment or injuries that would break the resolve of other beings and shrug off non-debilitating injuries relatively easily Highly Dense Bone Structure - Due to his Zabrak biology, Haiki's bones are abnormally dense and durable compared to those of other species. Because of this they rarely break except under great strain and he has extra protection against injuries from blunt trauma and to a more limited degree cutting and piercing trauma as blades are more likely to stop at or glance off his bones. The extra weight and hardness of his extremities also gives him an advantage in unarmed combat as he can both impart more force with each strike and put more strain on himself without breaking bones. Dual-Heart Circulatory System - Gives Haiki greater endurance over extended periods of exertion and allows him to catch his breath quicker. Excellent Memory and Analytical Ability -Haiki has shown a gift for rapid memorization and clear recall even under great stress. He also possesses very strong analytical abilities for his age, able to not just repeat information or visualize things he's committed to memory but understand the wider implications of what he commits to memory given enough time and context. Basic Cullinary Skills - Haiki can prepare some basic foods and baked goods and has functioning knowledge of more complex recipes and cuisines currently beyond his skill level. This partly comes from Corinth's influence on his interests, although he'll readily admit that he believes developing his palate is also useful for his ambitions as a poisoner.
[sub]Quick report on political influence, ownerships, associates and rivals.[/sub]
Political Influences None, he's only been an Acolyte for a year or so. Ownerships J4N4 'Jana' - A utility droid that Haiki modified, Jana's droid brain and tools have been imported into a spherical rolling body with a 'head' that moves freely across the sphere giving it excellent ground mobility on a variety of terrains compared to traditional wheels and greater speed than treads. She also comes equipped with a mid-range taser, a whipcord/grappling hook launcher to increase mobility and tie up enemies and a tool for slicing into systems. Miniature tool kit - A compact, easily carried and concealable toolkit that contains everything Haiki needs to make modifications or repairs to droids or other equipment in the field. Associates Corinth Genbit - Haiki history teacher and one of the few people in his life he doesn't either outright dislike or feel mild disdain around. Thanks to Corinth's teaching style, Haiki has a real love of and understanding for history at least at a basic level. He was also inspired to take up cooking and baking as a hobby because of Corinth, even though secretly his paranoid little brain insists on it so he can cook his own meals to avoid poisoning and potentially poison others if necessary. Still, Corinth is probably one of the people Haiki's come closest to trusting. Mara Cessair - Haiki's teacher in Sith Alchemy, a subject that the young Iridonian has taken to with both passion and skill given his age. He's already angling to make himself her best student and squeeze every drop of knowledge he can get out of her as completely as possible.
[sub]Psychological evaluation of candidate.[/sub]
Haiki is above all things outwardly cold. The boy has passion and hatred within him, but they're more like a glacier than a raging fire: Slow to build and hard to notice but prone to reaching a tipping point after which everything comes crashing down hard all at once. As far as he can tell his earliest memories involve his mother abandoning him to the Sith in order to save her own skin and this has shaped his mental state in ways that his mentors are happy to encourage. Haiki prefers droids over people and distrusts most organic beings. His main goal in life is in his own words 'To have enough skill to track down my mother, make her suffer and then kill her with my bare hands.' Romance, friendships, even most enjoyment tends to be beyond him unless he severely lets his guard down. Haiki is curious and hungry for knowledge and also eager to master new skills. Figuring out how to get a feature up and running in a droid, crafting a new toxin or antidote, even cooking a technically difficult meal successfully are where he finds happiness. Increasingly he's taken to studying his fellow Acolytes with the same intensity, wondering if he can take their minds, their selves and deconstruct them to see what makes them tick and of course how he can use what he learns to his own ends.
[sub]List of uncovered and suspected flaws. To be put into restricted database.[/sub]
Psychological Arrogance - Haiki is above all confident in his own superiority. He's smart and talented for his age and he knows it and is happy to demonstrate for you if you're having trouble comprehending the vastness of his intellect and skill. He's aware that for now he's physically weak and small, but is convinced that with the exception of a few interesting individuals his fellow classmates are braindead imbeciles he'll soon be able to think circles around. Even his instructors are mainly repositories for knowledge he hasn't yet mastered due solely to his inexperience, rather than worthy of respect or fear. Lack of Empathy - Haiki struggles to care about those around him or understand them as people. He's made some efforts to be sociable, but likely views it all as just a series of emotional levers and buttons to push to get others to do as he wants and has no serious attachments or loyalties thus far. He may not be entirely incapable of Empathy, but very little in his life so far has indicated otherwise. Parental issues - Bringing up either of his parents is the one consistent way to get Haiki to feel real, impulsive rage. This is especially true of his mother. His normally stoic and superior demeanor cracks instantly at most mentions of her and he'll often go to rash and foolish extremes to hurt the person who brought her up if possible. Physical Physically Weak - Haiki has very little muscle mass to speak of and is small for his age. It may not be permanent, but he's got almost no real strength or physical power. Vulnerable hearts - Haiki's dual circulatory system makes him much more susceptible to heart issues as if one heart goes out of sync the arrhythmia could badly damage the other heart. Dense Bones - Haiki's dense bone structure means he's unable to swim well if at all.

[sub]Major achievements and failures on record.[/sub]

Achievements Mastered basics of Sith Alchemy Mastered Basics of Niman Mastered Basics of Mecha-Deru Excellent Performance in Several Classes. Built his own droid companion. Failures Several Recent Failures in Armed and Unarmed Sparring - Although Haiki has displayed a natural aptitude for unarmed combat in the past and studies his lightsaber forms studiously, he's suffered a string of several brutal losses in more recent days as his classmates catch up to or surpass him in skill and physical ability. His unwillingness to train his body seriously along with his mind is becoming a severe impediment. Failed to Save Himself From Poison- In spite of his previously flawless track record with poisons and alchemy, Haiki just recently suffered a near death failure. His instructor Mara Cessair slipped him a toxin specifically designed to attack his heart and circulatory system after he behaved too arrogantly in her class. The boy correctly deduced the identity of the poison, but was unable to synthesize an antidote before passing out due to the inherent vulnerability of his dual-heart circulatory system. He was saved but badly shaken and is still slightly weak.

[sub]Personal biography, as detailed by the candidate for use in imperial archives. Acquired shortly after last achievement of note.[/sub]
As detailed by Acolyte Haiki Benara, with transcription notes The recording begins. A voice recognizable as Acolyte Haiki Benara speaks in a flat, near-emotionless tone. This is my past, as best I can recall it along what I've been told by others. My father and mother were both criminal scum unworthy of life. My father was a Force Sensitive of modest, self-trained skill and used to claim he was a shaman, the better to market his hallucinogenic nonsense. My mother was a fairly infamous pirate with a side business in drugs. They raised myself and my sister in some tunnel complex in the deserts of Iridonia with a bunch of verminous thieves and would-be crime bosses. A bitter note creeps into the young voice... We both thought we were happy then, I think. We were little fools who knew no better way of life. It all changed when the Jedi found us. I just remember twin lightsabers flying through the air, cutting down members of the only family I'd known as easily and thoughtlessly as you'd cut grass. My father grabbing me and running, leaving my sister behind. The rest is a blur...until... Well, I have just one more memory of those days. A single image crystal clear. The cabin of my mother's ship washed in red light, a cloaked figure blocking out everything. Everything except for my father, lying on the floor. I can't tell if he's alive or dead, but I'm in my mother's arms and she's holding me out to offer me or maybe shield herself... A long pause, a deep breath and a crash. As if something's been thrown hard across the room. The same voice speaks up after, practically snarling. She doesn't matter! None of this matters! Another voice interrupts, muffled and out of range of the recording. Acolyte Benara takes several long, audible breaths before continuing in the same detached tone as before but with a hint of smugness and irritation. A few months later I strangled some other mewling brat half to death with the Force on pure instinct and I've been at the Academy ever since. Ask anyone and they'll tell you I'm nearly top of my class in half of the subjects available at my level. I've been taking apart machines to see how they worked and rebuilding them better since I could hold a multi-tool and none of the others is as clever at Alchemy as I am. Just listen to me speak! I'm already more grown-up than all those half-wits! Some of the others laugh at me now, call me a weakling only good at tinkering with potions and machines, even beat on me in sparring. But I know they just resent me and fear me. They should. Some day when they're all corpses or underlings, I'm going to be a Lord. I'm going to do great things for the Empire. After that I'm going to track down my mother and use everything I've learned and all the power I've gained to kill her. My father too, if he's still alive somewhere in the Empire. Whoever's listening, keep your eyes on me. It might help to have some context when I surpass you. Recording ends here as Acolyte Benara seems to have shattered the device against a wall. He has since been punished for needless and costly dramatics.
