They had to cause the distraction to allow the other groups scattered throughout this place to find and defeat the Scarlet Witch. On one level, it bothered her that she had been sent here to deal with the grunts - but on another level, she didn't know if she would have the conviction in the final moments to force the Scarlet Witch to change everything back. Once the other groups jumped through other portals throughout the palace to try and take down Scarlet Witch and Magneto, she looked at the others who were there. As soon as the door opened she could see the large number of soldiers who were there waiting for them and weapons already drawn out. "Lets get this started then." She said, as she charged forward towards the closest soldier and punched him only for him to stumble backwards. Antoinette had already made her way into the Palace when the others caught up to her fairly quickly. She had wanted to go in and talk to Wanda, find her and see what was going on in that head of hers. Not everyone was the true villain people made them out to be. Wanda did this all for a reason, if they could figure out what the reason was, they could talk to her about it. Antoinette had more faith in the Scarlett Witch than those around her seemed to. Well, perhaps other than Wanda's brother. That wouldn't happen for Antoinette though as she seemed to be thrown into the distraction group, which was a given considering all the soldiers that seemed to turn and suddenly appear as they walked through the front doors. Antoinette looked most of them over, not missing the weapons they carried. Her and guns didn't exactly get along and every time one seemed to fire, she would be thrown into a state of fear and freeze completely. She hoped that wouldn't happen to her this time. Cassandra charged forward, making the first move against a nearby soldier and Antoinette readied herself for the next. Ana pitied the poor fool that decided her talents were best used as a distraction, but she would serve her role and perhaps go off on her own to take care of business when the time was right. In the meantime, she could at least have a little fun at others' expense. Once in the portal, guards came after them. She focused her mind and entered their thoughts. She grabbed hold of four of them before she moved their morality around. "You guys hate each other. Take care of business." Once out, the guards opened fire on each other as Ana casually walked away. She tried to pick up some of the other guards but was having no luck. She may have over-exerted herself before, but at least she had a few others with her to pick up some of the slack once she got her bearings back. Lance decided that for him at the moment, the best thing he could possibly do for the moment would be to distract the soldiers as much as possible. Namely, by blinding as many people as possible with one blast of light hopefully. There was a blinding flash, as he managed to blind several of the guards (15 to be exact), causing them to drop their weapons and stumble backwards and away from them. "Well, that was a bit more effective then I thought..." Lance muttered, looking at the others. Flynn was soon engulfed in flames, sending fire slamming into a few guards, sending them falling onto the ground. "It's not too surprising that there was this many guards in here honestly..." he said with a shrug, before a few of the guards started shooting at them. Invisible Woman tried to throw up a force field, but she only was fast enough to protect most of the group from a shower of bullets. Ana and Flynn weren't so lucky. Ana got a bullet to the right shoulder, it would cause her to stumble backwards, and it would definitely be hurting. Flynn got a shot to the leg which knocked him down to being on one knee, but he managed to stand up fully again, but his left leg was hurting a lot from the bullet. "Damn it that hurts..." he muttered under his breath. The ex-Asgardian took a deep breath, shining golden magical discs forming in her hands. There were so many soldiers here, but they had an equally formidable force on their side as well. It reminded her of the battles her uncle, Thor, would speak about - though the opponents tended to come from other realms than Midgard. She threw her magical discs like they were frisbees, hitting ten soldiers in total and they fell to the ground, unconscious - Runa had to be a bit disappointed. She didn't like leaving her enemies alive, feeling that that would only come to haunt her. Cassandra looked towards the others as they started to take down some more soldiers, and then started to get an idea as she held out her hands, and focused on turning things to winter. "It may get a little chilly." Cassandra warned, and was only able to make it snow lightly which wasn't really what she wanted in the first place. Then ran forward towards the closest group of soldiers and started to punch and kick them knocking out five of magneto's men with no problem. When the bullets started flying Antoinette's vision narrowed and her chest grew heavy. She was used to panic attacks but the feeling also shifted and changed and that was something that one could never get used to. It could become quite debilitating and considering all the action that was going on around her, it wouldn't be surprising if Antoinette curled into the fetal position or tucked tail and ran from the palace. She looked around at all the others fighting, doing their best to take on the force of the palace so the other teams could get to their destinations. She shut her eyes, thinking of the strength of her mother and tried her best to push on. If she could get past these guards, she might still be able to get to Wanda. Once Antoinette opened her eyes, she seemed to focus on a group of guards and went in to land a few well-placed punches. She as able to knock out two of them with her panicked fists of furry. Ana felt the bullet enter her shoulder. She let out a small cry and clutched it, immediately calling for her telekinesis. She felt her mind wrap around the bullet as she struggled to pull it out. Eventually, she managed and flung it to the ground. It hurt like hell, but it also drove her. Hell, it had been a while since she felt such pain. As the guards continued to shoot, she grabbed bullets out of the air and flung them back, striking six of the guards, taking them out. That would teach them to shoot her. Lance tried to blast a few other people with light, but after that first blast, it appeared that he was having a few problems. After a few tries though, he was able to create an orb of light, sending it flying and slamming into one of the soldiers that were still standing. "There are so many people here..." he muttered under his breath. Flynn was trying to deal with the fact that his leg had been essentially shot and now had a bullet stuck in it. Now wasn't really the time to focus on that however, as he looked at the soldier's around them. Taking a bit of a deep breath, he threw forth a wall of flame, taking out a grand total of 23 soldiers with the one hit. More like completely incinerated them, as there was nothing left of them but a big pile of ash. "...Did not mean for that to happen..." "You look a little disappointed cousin," Klara said to Runa, as she drew forth her sword. "This may not be an Asgardian weapon in this reality, but it is still rather sharp and can do it's job properly," she added, before she charged into the fray, leaping up into the air and bringing her sword down on more then a few of the soldiers herself. This was rather fun for her, it had been a while since she truly was in a battle. A part of her wished that her father was around in this reality to see it too. The soldiers were not too thrilled, as their numbers were starting to dwindle a little bit, but there still were plenty of them in the room. They started firing off shots at the group, this time several rounds hit Cass, but weren't able to damage her at all. Another bullet slammed into Lance's arm, sending him stumbling from the force of the gunshot, but he didn't say anything. He'd been thrown out of windows before, a bullet to the arm was nothing to him. "...Perhaps I just need a change in weaponry," Runa responded to her cousin. Whereas Klara had always favored the sword, Runa had been taught to fight with her staff, Gandr. The magical object had immense power and she wished that Gandr existed here, that her staff would come to her hand, but she doubted the Scarlet Witch would have left it in existence. Getting the idea from the magical mutant who conjured items, Runa concentrated and managed to summon a staff. Feeling more confident, she then used her Asgardian training in staff combat as she took on guard after guard, hitting them in the head, the groin, the knees, the ankles... anywhere that would at least leave an extensive bruise. Her hair whipped around her as she moved and by the time she came to a slight pause, taking a breath, she had taken down five of the guards. Cassandra felt several rounds hit her in the chest, luckily her skin was bulletproof otherwise she would have probably died she turned to look at the soldier who shot at her. She ran up to him, without much of an issue she lifted him up over her head and stared at the soldiers who were in front of her and threw the guy started to scream. As he went flying the man landed on top of seven of his comrades knocking them out as she smirked towards the little pile. Antoinette seemed to be hanging in there well with guns going off and bullets flying everywhere. She had picked up on some of the soldiers fighting patterns, their training showing through in their movements but it was just basics Antoinette was able to follow. Her blue eye did start to glow faintly as she tried to tap into her enhanced ability to give her more of an outlook but it wasn't providing much more insight. Still, Antoinette was able to knock down three more soldiers in her way. They were starting to dwindle the soldier's numbers but they also just kept appearing. Antoinette wasn't sure how much stamina the others had but if refreshed soldiers kept showing up to beat them down, it was only a matter of time. They needed a distraction for the distraction. Really, this was getting tedious. They were meant to keep this lot busy? Granted, they had managed to hit some of them, but for the most part their numbers were dwindling to almost nothing. She had checked the others, observing their fighting style. She made a mental note to herself as to their abilities before she moved to find cover, less she be shot again. They needed something big. Something to take the rest out. Perhaps an explosion? Or bring the entire place down around them? That would be messy though. Lance sent a few blasts outwards, trying to knock down more then a few of the soldiers, but he only managed to take out 3 of them. He was starting to get a little bit tired, so his powers seemed to be reflecting that in how powerful of the blasts that he caused. Now he was starting to majorly hope that they ended this quickly, and took out the rest of the soldiers. He was wondering how the other two groups were doing with their missions. Flynn sent out a few more blasts of flames, taking out another dozen soldiers as he looked out to see just how many soldiers were left in the room. He let out a slight sigh of relief, seeing that instead of probably well over a hundred soldiers in the room when they started, they now had a much smaller number to deal with. There were 45 soldiers left in the room to be exact. They still shot off their guns at the group, however this time around it would seem like they got somewhat lucky. Either that or they were taking courses in how to kill the heroes from Storm troopers, as all of their shots went wide, resulting in them missing their targets. If they were lucky, they'd take out the last of the soldiers soon, before anyone else got hurt. "Are battles on Midgard usually this monotonous?" Runa asked Anastasia, as she opened up a sling ring portal beneath the feet of eight of the soldiers, sending them to the middle of the desert. Lance had been rather clear on the entire no killing policy, but sending someone to the desert was only a death sentence if they were completely stupid and idiotic... which she admittedly was certain was the case for these soldiers that they were fighting. The soldiers had hardly dealt any damage against them. There weren't to many soldiers left now which was good now as well, she looked at the closest group of soldiers there before running up to them, landing a few good hard hits. Sending four of them down onto the ground, as she looked over her shoulder towards Runa for a moment when she made a comment and shrugged slightly. "Not all of them really." Antoinette huffed a sigh of strain and moved over to stand with Cassandra and perhaps fight alongside her. She heard the conversations of a few others while they commented on the fighting. She didn't see how it was monotonous but then again, the rest of them didn't seem to have a deep-seated fear of the sound of a gun going off. "Perhaps a distraction of some sort to split the remaining group. I can cast an illusion but it only affected a small amount of them. Ten at most," Antoinette offered. She was getting stronger though but she hadn't used her illusions a lot for battles like this in this reality. It had been for artistic purposes really. Ana had already noticed that they were outnumbered, with some of them getting injured. She was getting sick of it. She, again, sent her mind through to the guards, getting deep in their subconscious where she switched things around. She managed to confirm 10 of the guards to their side as they began to attack the others. Hopefully, that will dwindle the numbers down. "I turned some of them to our side, but who knows how long they will last in fighting each other. We'll need something bigger." "...Well, we're down to lower numbers, I think we can take the rest of them out... There aren't several dozen left, there are only about 2 dozen or so, with 10 of them on our side no matter for how long, we can finish them here and now," Lance said, shaking his head slightly at the group talking about causing a distraction as he sent a few blasts off towards the soldiers, knocking down a few of them still, his hands glowing with a bright light as he did so. "He's got a point, we almost have them down, so let's end this and hope that the others do their part to fix things," Flynn added, as he sent several blasts of fire flying at the soldiers. He managed to severely injure several of the remaining. Now he was just hoping that the others would fix reality soon, he did not want to be stuck in this reality any longer. The soldiers more or less at this point weren't paying much attention to the group, they were more or less fighting each other at this point, leaving the group alone.
