[indent]Alana Kingsley was born to Eleanor Singletary on the afternoon of May 17th, product of a one night stand after her community college graduation. Although her parents were never together, Rowland Kingsley made it a point to be present in his daughter's life… As present as a travel nurse could be, anyway. Thankfully, Eleanor had found a stable job at Columbus' hospital and had full support from her family and the baby's father, so raising Lana was a team effort that produced a lovely, respectful, well-behaved young woman.

At school, Alana was thankfully too good at being invisible and blending in with the crowd to be noticed by any bullies. She met her two inseparable best friends in elementary school, and since then they have always been there for each other. In terms of academic themes, Lana is considered a good student, but nothing excellent or out of the ordinary. She also isn’t as privileged as some of her peers when it comes to having their own transportation methods, so she commutes to most places as she continues to save money to afford a car.

Due to the busy nature of her mother’s job, Lani is mostly alone at her place. Whereas people might think this makes Alana sad, it really doesn’t bother her. The few moments spent together by mother and daughter are sweet, fun and fulfilling enough for both women to feel comfortable.
