First time was around the kitchen table when I was... ten? Which, courtesy of some depressing calculations, means I've been at this for [i]twenty five years[/i]. Although obviously it's not been "a quarter of a century spent doing nothing but roleplaying", because a lot of that time has been spent doing [i]other[/i] things (I hear amazing things about sleeping). In terms of online stuff, there's been some misadventures on Roll20, I'd tried a purely fandom based one that didn't quite work out for me (which is why Roleplayer Guild appealed, because there's a little bit of everything, and the format of individual games makes it way easier to keep track of). And then there's good ol' IRC, and [i]then[/i] there's some embarrassing years spent on websites like Chathouse and Chatalot.

I have even done, god help me, a fair bit of live action roleplaying in my time.

Somewhere out there, there's pictures of me running away from people dressed as orcs. My biggest fear is that they'll resurface when I'm finally ready to pursue something approximating an "adult career".

Thank you! While I think I'm okay at the moment, I was going to ask - how active, and how necessary, is it to use the site's Discord server to organise stuff? I like the interest check system a lot, but I'm slightly concerned I'll have to dust off Discord to sort out applying to games!
