It is difficult to watch a show/movie with a great story idea, but poor acting or poor direction. Really takes the steam out of it. I watch these sappy Christmas stories occasionally on Netflix or Hallmark. Some of them just kill me.
I agree, but I'm a completionist and struggle to back out early in the film/show, so I force myself to watch until the end. Just watched an apocalyptic film about a disease that spreads by touch/breath/blood (but apparently can be wiped out by bleach) and it was horrible. Like, "oh, those gloves I just used to touch where the infection might be prominent? Just let me touch my face, hair, etc." horrible. I do drop shows/films every now and then, though. The TV show version of the Mist and recently Netflix's Daybreak are ones that come into mind, mainly because they were so laden with current day political commentary despite said commentary adding nothing to as well not even being close to the main idea/plot of the show. Lasted 2 or maybe 3 episodes (can't remember) into the Mist and only one episode into Daybreak.
