Her older brother Jeremiah, took an immediate liking to her. Spending most of her life under the terrifying religious gaze of her parents, and the somehow more terrifying protective reach of her older brother, Cynthia took on a very conservative appearance and developed a concerning fear of filth, her own body and her own thoughts that were deemed "unholy" by her parents. Along with her brother, Cynthia was able to move overseas for schooling, leading to a deafening symphony of ideas and possibilities that both excited the girl and scared her.
