Out of the bunch, Annie was the only one he was okay with and took quite the liking too. If it wasn’t just for her body it would have been the existence of neon as well, it was the first time Joseppi encountered a sentient stand that could speak on its own accord. Most of the time if not always, stands never spoke and if they did it was just in grunts, gurgles of blood, or his patented ORA! So, you could say he had a favorite so far in the race and it wasn’t coincidence that she ended in second place either. Like a shepherd leading his flock of sheep as Abraham or Jacob from the bible would have, Joseppi lead the stray sheep into the bar one after another. Except they were slightly afraid of him as if he were more of a wolf in sheep’s clothing rather than a beloved shepherd. Heading into the bar he could feel the heat on his shoulders and the stares glued to his spine. Admittedly he lost his temper and lashed out uncharacteristically at first, but he had gone through a rough patch and never met so many stand users in one setting. Whenever he turned his head it was as if he cracked a whip with each change of direction. Each crack causing the patrons to jump in their seats hoping the man haunted by ghosts would kindly leave them alone. The shared patronage they once had at the beginning was gone, only to be reduced to fear and loathing. It was a surprised the race officials hadn’t caught wind of what was going on, either that or they simply didn’t want to be involved with bad press so early into the race amidst their investors. Then again, any publicity was good publicity. Annie was the first to request a drink in her cheery attitude, he would have never taken her for a dark liquor kind of girl. Instead of sitting at the front of the bar he made his way behind the bar and squared off against the bartender. Their eyes matching ferocity in gaze which almost electrified the room, “Why don’t you just go on home. I did enough damage here and you’ve been more than kind with me. Tell you what” Joseppi exclaimed after reaching into his vest and pulling out a large bag of coin. “How bout you take what I’ve given you for that there door and the rest of this bag as my offer to be co-owner of this here establishment.” Again, the air fell silent before the bartender smiled and shook Joseppi’s hand before taking the bag and exiting from behind the bar. On his way out he started the jukebox up once more and the environment of the room changed with the introduction of sultry notes that were both uplifting and fun. He took one look out the crowd outside and shook his head before turning away and moving on with his handsome reward. Inside Joseppi slapped a towel over his shoulder and went to work as full-time bartender. He laid out four cups with two blocks of ice each, suddenly pouring a bottle of whiskey across each of them leaving a liquid trail around the outside of the rims. While he was intrigued to drink with Annie, he was more looking forward to retrieving his poster and finishing where he left off with that J. Zeppoli.
