Something about it confirmed his gut feeling that this kid wasn't an innocent boy trying to lie his way out of trouble. There was clear intent and thought to his actions. Not only was this a dangerous situation for a child, but perhaps the child was a danger to them. The child's next words surprised him, but he tried his best to keep a stoic expression. It was not difficult due to his constant desire for detachment from emotions. "For a moment I thought it was humans. But that would be silly wouldn't it?" It was possible that the child was just playing off the Aklenroth announcement, but the gears in Malachi's brain were turning rapidly, the way they used to when he was working on his projects. How would a child who had not lived during the last time a human had set foot in Avalia know of the smell of humans? It could be played off as a guess due to the announcement like he had considered prior, however, the playful manner gave Malachi the hint that the child knew what he was doing and was here to cause trouble. That is if he even was a child. Those words had the undertaste of a threat. Malachi considered him a possible spy of Aklenroth or maybe even someone with a cloaking ability or illusion. Something was not right and he could feel it in his gut. The child was about to proceed to speak more and Malachi was hoping to get further information out of him, but Kenia returned and the dialogue between them continued. His continued desire to stay with strangers was also peculiar. What was he really here for? Malachi wasn't so sure he cared to find out. The child was a risk and that's all that mattered. Kenia started to tell him that she was indeed the woman she had mentioned, referring to her locket as proof of it. So an alias.Malachi thought to himself. He wondered who Kenia really was and what she was up to. She seemed trustworthy enough with all she risked for them, but something was unknown to them. When she glanced at Malachi, he gave her a firm horizontal nod, his eyes and annoyed expression an open-book to his feelings on him. She started to tell the boy to leave to his pleasure, but a curious mood overtook Kenia that he had not seen yet. That further confirmed that there was a side to Kenia they had yet to know, but still he trusted her. Malachi figured it was his turn to speak. His opinion was clear: the humans were their priority and this child posed a threat. "Get out." Malachi said coldly and simply as he abruptly moved from his position to stand closer to Kenia. He figured the 'or else' part was rather clear and not needed to be said.
