Faolan's anger reflected his own, that much was clear. It was hard to keep their cool in a situation like this. This circus was despicable, to allow such feats upon a child. It made him wonder if there was more going on behind the scenes, but he hadn't seen any of the other acts and performers look like this. At his question, Lucien averted his gaze. Honestly that was a hard question to answer. From what he had seen, he had no doubt in his mind that there was no way this child was purely human. There had to be some supernatural aspect to him, to have such features, but he couldn't really know more about that without asking him, and now was not really the time. He didn't feel like he would be fully safe in an orphanage with that appearance, but he couldn't bear to leave him here either. He would never be able to live with himself if he let himself walk away from this situation. "We.. can take care of him, at least until he had been restored to full health. Faolan.. I don't think he's completely human. His eyes are snake-like, and I noticed scales on his body. Those snakes in there seem to mean him no harm at all, in fact with the way they act.. it's almost like they want to protect him. It's not safe to leave him here, and it's not safe to leave him in the hands of a human orphanage either. I know that.. our life on the road can be difficult, but it's certainly better than what he is experiencing here." He reached for Faolan's hand, which he knew was tense with anger, and squeezed it gently. "I can't leave him here Faolan.. We can ask him what he wants to do, he has the freedom to choose and live his life as he pleases.. that's what you told me once isn't it?" He asked quietly, pleading eyes looking up at the love of his life. He knew that if they did this the road ahead would not be easy with a child to take care of, but he was willing to take that chance, for this boy's sake.
