Kade is very handsome, standing 5'11" in height with a well-built, toned physique. Kade has a fair complexion with olive undertones, a strong bone structure with high cheek bones and a well maintained beard to compliment. he has a sleeve tattoo on his right arm, and a tattoo on his back. He has black hair that can appear somewhat blue under the moonlight, usually styled in a casual gelled suave with parts covering his forehead. With striking, intense light green eyes contrasting wonderfully against darkened lashes and eyebrows, he can be described as relatively athletic, tall, and strong. What people notice first when they look at Kade, are how tired and sad his eyes look, even when he smiles. Being able to use his good looks to his advantage more than a few times, he often struggles with inducing the concern of others when the look of misery takes over his face. Kade once had a wife who he loved dearly, but she was murdered. From there He has had the occasional one night stand both with men and women, but those encounters were completely devoid of any type of romance as he is still getting over the loss of his wife. The only type of love that he still holds on to is the love he has for his 7 year old daughter, Emily, who he had to leave behind with her aunt Leah in New York in order to give her a chance at a normal life. Every few months he tries to visit, but as time goes by, Emily's aunt, his late wife's sister, welcomes him less and less. When it comes to vampires, Kade cannot bring himself to trust them. Thinking of how his childhood friend threw away their friendship upon becoming a vampire. He believes that vampires are only loyal to their own kind, and will always wait for an opportunity to stab him in the back if he isn't careful. Professionally, Kade has connections with different groups of hunters and with a few covens, who often hire him to do a dirty deed for them. With these valuable relationships, Kade has access to important information and tools that aid him in his hunt.

Kade likes to talk, a lot. In fact, you could say it's what he's best at, aside from shooting his colt. Hes the type of person to walk into a room, and learn all he needs to about everyone in it, simply by talking and leading the conversation to his desired resolution. This charismatic front, of course, is just a front. Kade is not the type to finish talking before pulling the trigger. He often uses conversations as a distraction, and finds that his targets rarely expect to be shot mid conversation, especially when Kade is the one talking.

Those who don't enjoy talking the way Kade does, often find him to be annoying. However, whenever a rude quip is thrown at him in order to get him to shut up, he always has a clever response ready. But this annoying, non stop talking facade is what he puts out professionally. If he is in the company of friends, people he trusts, the things that come out of his mouth bare much more meaning, and he suddenly appears to appreciate silence so much more.

Kade suffers from depression, which can be often seen through his eyes, even when he puts on a charismatic facade. He self medicates a lot, and often seeks the help of whiskey to drown his sorrows. When Kade smokes, it's usually a sign of him trying to bury a negative thought deep into the unconscious mind. This is seen as a serious weakness against manipulative vampires, who use his depression against him. 

When it comes to vampires, Kade has no sympathy, no remorse. He is cunning, and ruthless, and often executes his targets in broad daylight, blending into the busy crowd moments before the panic spread. Other's who hunt alongside Kade find him troubling, as he shows a very sadistic side to himself when dealing with vampires. It's clear he could kill them in one shot, but likes to see them bleed out slowly. During his missions he often likes to toy with his target and see them struggle, and even spends a long time teasing them when he knows that buying time couldn't save them.

Kade was betrayed by his best friend Sam. But that didn't really taint his trust in people, only in vampires. He believes that Sam became a monster when he turned, and that was why he was more loyal to the other vampires than he was to Kade, despite everything that they have been through together. So even though this happened, Kade still finds it easy trusting new people, as long as he gets a good vibe from them. 

Kade has a talent when it comes to children. They all like him and listen to him, a skill he gained while raising his daughter. Even when he lefts for weeks at a time to go on a mission, it was like he could always pick things up where they were left off. His daughter loves him but often cries for him when he's gone for too long. Their relationship is getting more complicated the older she gets, and it is noticed by others how much that bothers Kade.

Because of his relationship with his daughter, Kade's character is usually compared to that of a father. It's because he sees his own daughter in others who struggle, and feels a duty to help them. Sometimes when he deals with hunters who are younger than him, he tends to become protective over them, and often gives unsolicited advice.

Born and raised in New York by a single father, Kade was groomed to inherit his father’s business being a… Shoe Cobbler. Sure, that doesn’t sound all that exciting, but it was a successful business in its own right. New York, inhabited exactly by the type of people to fund such a business, was the perfect place to operate it in. So, after graduating from high school as a below-average student, Kade began spending his days fixing shoes from 9 to 5, and the only thing that helped him keep his sanity was knowing that after he was done at the shop, him and his best friend since childhood, Sam, would meet at the bar across the street. The bar was called “Death & Company”, and unbeknownst to Kade, was a Vampire and Witch hotspot. But Kade being young, oblivious, and always drunk, he never realized that it was. Everyone at that bar knew him well, as he was a daily visitor there, always talking and scheming and tricking others to buy his drinks, drinking until he could not stand up straight. Somehow, however, he never seemed to suffer a hangover, a feat he always bragged about and Sam was always jealous of. He often challenged others to crazy bets and got into a bar fight more than he can remember. He was bored with his life and hurried back to the bar every day for some excitement. The vampires found him entertaining, and the witches found him endearing. Sam knew that Kade lacked a general sense of direction and felt crushed by a constant lack of purpose, and often encouraged Kade to look into going to university. However, Kade was afraid of disappointing his father. The business has existed for 3 generations, and Kade had no siblings and thus no one else to inherit it. Him and his father often got into arguments, based on the fact that Kade wanted to do something more with his life.
[color=83bf7e]♦ Meeting Mia Sanchez[/color]
When he was 22, he got absolutely trashed one night challenging a girl, who bet she could drink more whiskey than him. She was right. The night ended with Kade throwing up everywhere and the bartender kicking him out, and the girl, out of guilt, walked him home. Her name was Mia Sanchez, who’s father owned a bookshop not far from the bar. And like Kade, she was groomed to inherit her family’s business, and often found herself looking for more. Having that in common, the two bonded very quickly and began spending time together almost every day, and eventually ventured to other places outside of the bar. What Kade did not know at the time, was that Mia was a witch and that the bookshop her father owns was just a story she made up to cover up the reality. Her father was a Warlock leading a coven of hedge-witches with his brother, and Mia and her sister are meant to inherit the leadership once they pass. Mia, however, longs for a life of a regular human being, wishing she could go study at a university and become a full-fledged member of society.
As Kade and Mia got closer, he and Sam began to spend less time together. And during that time, Kade had no idea that Sam had began surrounding himself with a new crowd from the bar, and that Sam got into all sorts of trouble. The vampires revealed themselves to Sam and offered him the gift of immortality. Sam, being carefree, insecure, misunderstood, impulsive, and irresponsible, accepted. This all happened without Kade even knowing of the existence of vampires. 
[color=83bf7e]♦ Death of his Father[/color]
That year, Kade’s father was diagnosed with an advanced form of Lupus, which was killing him, quickly. The next few weeks went by very fast. His father was hospitalized and instead of being with him, Kade was asked to stay at work and run the business on his own. While this was happening, Sam was nowhere to be found, and Kade would’ve felt abandoned if it weren’t for Mia being there for him. Even more so, the disease would’ve killed his father a lot faster if Mia hadn’t intervened, to which Kade had no idea. Unfortunately, being a hedgewitch, Mia did not have access to powerful enough magic to be able to cure his father of such an advanced form of Lupus. She only managed to slow it down. Ultimately, nothing was enough to save Kade’s father, and he eventually succumbed to his illness during his sleep, while Kade was getting drunk at the bar. After he found out, he realized he was lost. His mother was estranged to him, his father was dead, and all he was left with was the family’s business; which he hated having inherited the responsibility for. He drank himself to sleep, he abused different sorts of drugs and hoped to one day fall asleep and not wake up. According to his father, their family had a long history of depression, and it was more than likely that Kade would get it too. But his empty and boring view of the world changed when Mia brought him to the top of the empire state building, where she introduced him to magic. Having somehow managed to reserve the entire rooftop for the two of them alone, presumably with the help of magic, Mia brought him there so they could be close to the stars. She explained to him that she used magic on his father to try to make him better, but when nothing was working, she decided on performing a different spell, one that only her family can perform. Suddenly it looked like the stars came down to greet them, spiraling around them in a magnificent show of lights, and from them, a shape of a man was formed – his father. The spell linked to a fragment of his soul before he passed, allowing them to pull it back one last time before it moved on forever. This moment allowed Kade to say goodbye to his father and get the closure that allowed him to move on.
[color=83bf7e]♦ Marriage[/color]
After the feat Mia performed on top of the empire state building, and with the courage it took from her to come out to him as a witch – trusting him, Kade realized that he was in love with her. For the next few months, Mia introduced Kade to other witches and to vampires who frequented Death & Company as often as him. This new life was so exciting, he knew he will never be bored again, not with her. At 23 years old, Kade purposed to Mia. Knowing that her father and sister would disapprove, Mia saw this as an opportunity to find a way out. Plus, she loved Kade too. She said yes. The two got married in a ceremony that welcomed the union of a human and a witch, and to Mia’s surprise, her father was the one to organize it. It became clear to Mia that there ISN'T a way out of her duties, and that one day she will have to lead her coven. But looking at her husband, she felt she’ll be more than happy as long as he is by her side. During the wedding, Sam finally showed up, revealing to be a vampire, and asking to be part of Kade’s life once more.
[color=83bf7e]♦ The Forbidden Child[/color]
A year later, Mia gave birth to a girl, which she and Kade named Emily Wilson Sanchez. However, once Sam laid his eyes on her, he tried to kill her. Thanks to magic, Mia was able to banish Sam from their home, but this was only the beginning. Sam went to the leader of the New York Clan and told them of Kade’s daughter. The clan declared her an abomination, and a threat to them and the alliance between witches and vampires in New York. Vampires surrounded Kade on his way to the shoe shop and demanded that he surrendered his daughter over to them, or else. When he refused, one of the vampires grabbed him and sunk his teeth into Kade’s arm, before being repulsed away in disgust, as if it was the worst blood this vampire has ever tasted. But before they had a chance to harm him more, a werewolf appeared and swiftly slashed through them, pulling Kade and bringing him home before disappearing. After this incident, the vampires declared war on the witches, refusing to back down until Emily is no more. Seeking to negotiate with the vampires, Mia’s father arranged a meeting with the head of the New York vampire clan. Three witches and three vampires met to discuss. It was then when it was revealed that the vampires think Emily is not just a witch like her mother, but she is a hybrid, of witch and lycanthrope. This caused a lot of confusion, and Mia’s father knew that Kade was a human and not a werewolf. Refusing to believe what the vampires are saying, he declared that the child is to be protected by the witches. The meeting went sideways, and only one witch was left alive to return and relay what happened in the meeting to the new leaders of the coven. Distraught by the news of her father’s demise, Mia set to find the vampires who killed him and avenge him. Meanwhile, Kade found the wolf who saved him earlier hiding behind his father’s old apartment. The wolf transformed back into its human form revealing to be a woman, one which Kade only recognized from photos; his mother. It turns out that Kade’s estranged mother is a purebred born werewolf, and that with the help of witches she was able to give her firstborn the gift of mundane life, making the lycanthropy skip a generation. She believed that the spell would continue for generations but knew that a child born from a witch would nullify it, hard-coding the werewolf gene. In the rarest occurrence, a true werewolf-witch hybrid, or werewitch if you will, was born. And the vampires, comfortable in their control of the city, and the exile of werewolves from it, feel threatened by this new being.
[color=83bf7e]♦ The War of Vampires and Witches of New York[/color]
The next year was brutal. Witches were abducted left and right, and their bodies later found sprawled on the streets with their hearts ripped out of their chests and placed in the palm of their hands. The symbolism was unclear to Kade, but the terror wasn’t. Mia and her sister Leah were out there fighting the vampires, while Kade was forced to stay behind to protect Emily, while his mother protected them both. Hiding in the shoe shop, Kade looked at his daughter, terrified of what kind of future is waiting for her. He reflected on how much he used to complain about his life being boring, and wonders if he wished for too much excitement. One day Leah returned without Mia, and Kade realized that she was taken. His mother tried to stop him, but he left Emily in Leah’s arms as he set out to find his wife. Yelling for Mia’s name, the vampires noticed him and lured him all the way to central park, where a battle hidden under an illusion was raging. Witches and vampires were going at it, in an absurd scene of bloodshed, completely ignored by passing pedestrians who can’t see it. There, at the center, he saw Mia attempting to escape the grasp of a vampire, Sam. Kade ran to her before being knocked back by another vampire. He was surrounded, and this time the vampires were no longer interested in negotiating. Fortunately, Kade’s mom followed him in her wolf form, and she fought the vampires long enough for Kade to escape and run toward Mia. As they both ran towards one another, Kade got one last glimpse of his wife, taking in her beauty, and her courage, right before she was yanked away by Sam. He yelled for her, and moments later her body was dropped behind him. Limp on the pavement, hole in her chest, heart in her hand. Suddenly he remembered the feeling he felt when his father passed, grief spiked with a keen sense of guilt. He lifted her up, tears going down his cheeks. He couldn’t believe that his childhood friend would do this to him. “You should have never married a witch” said Sam, looking horrified at his own actions. Then another vampire standing not far from them, commanded Sam to attack Kade. But before he had the chance, Kade was being pulled up by a wounded wolf, escaping the bloodbath that had overtaken central park. Back at the shop, Kade brought Mia in toward Leah, who broke down in tears and fell to her knees. Meanwhile, Kade’s mother transformed back to her human form, revealing to be mortally wounded. She falls to her knees, caught by Kade just in time, and shares her regret for not being there for him as he was growing up, believing that the entire ordeal is her fault. If she didn’t try to choose his life for him, none of this would’ve happened. And just moments after he told her that she has his forgiveness, she succumbed to her wounds and died.
[color=83bf7e]♦ Hunger for Vengeance[/color]
Both Leah and Kade longed for vengeance against the vampires and discussed their options. From Mia’s blood, Leah forged the Colt Buntline, a long-barreled army revolver with magical properties that will help kill vampires efficiently. In the barrel, Leah laid a curse, and any wound inflicted by this gun would not be susceptible to healing through supernatural means. This means that vampires shot by this gun would suffer the same way humans would. As a delightful bonus, the revolver would lightly vibrate when in the presence of vampires, allowing its wielder to always know when a potential target is at reach. Kade knew that Emily’s future is going to require guidance from a witch and told Leah that she has to stay safe and keep his daughter safe, while he went out there and made things right. Arriving back at the scene of battle, all witches were already dead, and only a fraction of vampires suffered the same fate. Most vampires had already left, including Sam, but a handful were left behind to clean up. Kade was not noticed right away, but they noticed him as soon as the first shot was heard. There he was, picking a gun for the first time, with a belt around his chest holding bags of bullets that weigh him down, he shot the vampires down one by one. The gun was knocked from his hand and went flying toward the road, when it revealed to hold one more magic trick as it boomeranged all the way back to him, allowing him to continue unloading its barrel and eradicating all vampires in sight. For the next few years, Kade took on a campaign to hunt the vampires one by one, sharpening his marksmanship and tracking skills, and by the time Emily was 7 years old, almost all vampires belonging to the New York Vampire Clan were dead. It was unclear what made it possible for him to become such an efficient vampire killing machine; it could be magic, which seemed unlikely as so many magic users fell victim to this war… so maybe it was pure willpower, or perhaps it was that he lost some of his humanity and replaced it with a hunger for vengeance. The only vampire left was Sam, who had skipped town during Kade's crusade, and had disappeared. Still hungry to satisfy his hatred toward vampires, Kade traveled the world as a mercenary for hire, hunting down vampires for pay, hoping to run into Sam one day. Most of the funds that he earns, he sends back to Leah so she could continue taking care of his daughter. He has also left her his father’s business, hoping that when she grows up, she can lean on it if she chooses to lead a life of a human.
[color=83bf7e]♦ Operation-Humanity[/color]
A secret government militant organization that sought to quell the rising supernatural presence in the United States got word of Kade and his hand in removing an entire vampire clan from the map. They contacted him letting him know that a vampire of the New York clan could be residing in Ember Grove. They offered him contract work that would pay very handsomely, enough to fully support Leah and Emily, if he came to live there. Upon arriving in town, he was handed a cellphone that would occasionally get a text message with the name of a vampire target and realized he has become their on-demand hit-man. Occasionally Kade is required to work alongside members of the organization, but the organization itself still largely remains a mystery, and nothing is ever explained to him.
