Gromgard smirked at the comment about the date as he took a small snack from the tray. Mamoru said she'd meet him outside the front gate so he headed back to his chambers. He ordered his goblins to stay near their hive and wait for his signal, except his scouts, which he took with him. With the 5 goblins, he met her outside the gate.

With the help of the scouts, he found the most likely direction the artists had gone. As they traveled, Gromgard took notice of broken pencils and drips of paint along the path. He thought it was strange as the pair was usually a lot cleaner than this. It wasn't too long before he heard their screams. With only a hand motion, he sent the scouts into the trees, leaving only himself and Mamoru in the open.

And then the attackers arrived. Gromgard immediately didn't like them and their voices were grating on his ears, which was saying something as he spent most of his time listening to goblins. They rushed. Gromgard drew his sword and readied his fireball spell, one of the only few he knew. Once they were close enough, he launched the spell and followed up by swinging his sword wide, allowing the goblins to shoot their crossbows from the trees on the group.

Not far behind him, a hole erupted from the ground with a glowing, yellow light, which was blocked repeatedly as 43 more goblins, each with their own weapons and armor, climbed out. Even the blacksmith and Gnarl joined the group, which ended up surrounding the 6 humanoids.
