So, it's time for some character reviews or...whatever we'd call this. It's really more my thoughts on things overall. [@Mr Rage] Mako: Well done overall. There actually is a blood-themed tager in cthulhutech, and hers is honestly pretty close to it by sheer coincidence. She definitely has a lot about blood, even before the symbiont. I've already mentioned the possible connection between her and Saya in that they both frequent the hospital. Whether that just means they've met there before but have otherwise had little contact or something more would be up to you. Are there any notable limits to the blood manipulation ability? [@Polaris North] Haru: She’ll probably be a good foil to some of the happier students, and I honestly hoped we’d have someone with a nasty home life. There’s room for things happening there. It’ll be interesting to see her have to interact with everyone. The delinquent type is also a fun archetype in general for this sort of thing. The blademaster seems like a pretty solid symbiont. Thought it’s worth noting that most tager ranged weapons don’t really need to worry about ammo at all, so it’d be fine to just be able to keep tossing knife-like projectiles instead of summoning back the same ones. [@TheWindel] Mana: I like the yakuza princess angle, and can definitely work some hooks with the yakuza themselves. If you had anything in particular in mind, I’m happy to discuss that somewhere. No need to comment about your symbiont’s origins, we’ll handle that in the RP. At least, my intent is that everyone starts without them and gets them early on in the RP itself, so one can write up the experience. A symbiont’s personality isn’t so much how one acts when shifted, rather it’s the general influence the symbiont has on you, regardless of form. One that has a very direct personality or preference for silence is certainly fine, though. I think the general way to go is a mixture of some positive traits and at least one thing that's negative and/or inhuman. Symbionts can already stick to walls and ceilings, so you don’t really need an ability to shift your direction of gravity just to do it, and that ability is available to all tagers in their hybrid form as well as the shifted one (something I had missed when initially writing things up, and will edit into the OP). Another name for the limit attack could be Hounds of Tindalos, as the description seems pretty close to the teleporting things. [@Sylvan] Kioko: She’s a foreigner, and already has quite a few of her own problems to deal with, and I like that. It'll be interesting to see how she adapts to things or grows into a group of friends/allies as things go on. I feel like it might be good to pare down the number of different weapon effects. She’s got a lot of options available, and most tagers are a little more focused or limited overall. The ability to use her melee or ranged attacks as a delivery method is good. The parasitic tracker could be dropped in favor of another sense type to mystically sense something’s health and status.
Some general thoughts: It’s probably a good idea to specify an area of effect for limit weapons that primarily target an area. It’s also worth noting that in general, limit attacks targeting an area do not distinguish between friend and foe, they just hit everyone in them most of the time. Limit attacks that are the tager taking multiple individual actions or that target a single enemy are, of course, more discriminating. Generally speaking, tagers shouldn’t have hand-held weapons as part of their shifted form. There’s no need to summon a gun-like weapon, you can just shoot the same projectiles out of part of your body. All ranged attacks also have effectively unlimited ammunition and therefore no need to reload in any way. I really like everyone's characters and the concepts of their symbionts, but some of them seem to diverge a bit too far from my expectations for the setting.
