I'm interested. Seems like a cool setting and idea. I'm for older characters. 

As to the event. One big event ties us all together and establishes a relationship from the start. We'll need to agree and know a fair amount of the event prior to starting. Otherwise we could all come up with our own ideas. Lot easier for OP, more work for us. I'm fine either way.
