She frequently compares her frame to that of a prepubescent boy, with flatness where most women curve and thinness where it is said there should be depth. Credited to being taller than average, her weight seems to stretch her length and cannot seem to find any one place to settle. Mousey locks once cascaded down her spine in loose curls, her ends lightened by the sun and tucked loosely into braids. However, she drunkenly hacked them off with a pair of rusty scissors one night with friends and found the lightness to be a relief. Never again have her waves hung below her distinct collarbones. A wide smile frequents the woman’s face, its presence distinctive and teetering on comical. When not pulled back in a grin, her lips seem to always sit slightly agape, as if she’s just waiting for a moment to insert a comment or perhaps just eager for a cigarette. If she isn’t speaking them freely, which is a rarity, Charlie’s green eyes are to place to search for her thoughts. They don’t glint with excitement or glitter during golden hour, but they do have a way of conveying emotions outside of the apparent. Pinning down Charlie’s style would be a difficult task, as it seems to change with each morning. She explores her options without restraint and has filled her closet with finds from local vintage and thrift stores. These pieces are commonly androgynous and vary wildly. Undoubtedly, she will always be adorned with jewelry, ears pierced multiple times and fingers often laden with sundry rings. Charlie’s skin is marked with a multitude of scars, though none large enough to draw any special attention. Most caused by accidents with substance use at their source, her hands and knees show evidence of the most abuse. A tattoo of a camper van covers a large portion of the skin covering her left rib cage, a honey bee is situated just above the nook of her elbow, the words “sorry, mom” are stained just below her hairline on the back of her neck, and the outline of a Zippo lighter sits on the inside of her right ankle. Some are clearly not done by professionals and all scream drunken decision, but she regrets none of them and plans to further her collection.

PSYCHOLOGY
"I never make the same mistake twice. I make it six or seven times just to be sure."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Charlie wants to learn what uninfluenced happiness is for herself. If not happiness, at least contentment. PHILOSOPHY ⫻ The first act of free will is to believe in free will. SECRETS ⫻ Anyone outside of Araminta’s train yard knows nothing of Charlie’s vices and she intends to keep it that way. She frequently jokes about her unusual upbringing, but only ever brushes the surface. SEXUALITY ⫻ Pansexual FEARS ⫻ A fear that rings true through many aspects of Charlie’s life and relationships is that she will be pushed away. Having genuinely never been alone, from sharing a camper with her family to a hostel in New York with an elderly woman, she is terrified to find out if she even enjoys her own company. Recent hallucinations also have her genuinely concerned for her physical health. She’s got Trypophobia too. REPUTATION ⫻ Thus far, Charlie is doing okay at getting herself integrated. She has begun to attend church services regularly and is nearly finished with renovations on her business venture. She frequents the local coffee shops, bars, and small businesses and has worked to introduce herself to and connect with as many locals as possible. QUIRKS ⫻ - An oral fixation means Charlie always has a cigarette pinched between her lips. If not that, she is chewing mint gum or the inside of her cheeks. - She consumes a remarkable amount of caffeine. - Being double-jointed allows her to limbs to bend in an uncanny manner, often unbeknownst to her. - She catches and releases even house flies. FLAWS ⫻ Charlie wants more control over her life, but has constantly sabotaging this when the opportunity to take risks shows up. Also, former drug and alcohol dependence, a lack of formal education, a criminal conviction, and an inability to mind her own damn business.

BACKSTORY
“I was essentially a member of the Manson Family. Ya know, without all the murder and with more door-to-door magazine sales."

As a middle child of seven, Charlie has never been alone. Her mother and father were happy to pull her and her siblings along with them wherever they went, whether that be an EDM festival in the middle of the Texan summer or a spontaneous hiking trip to “reconnect” with the earth. Neglectful would never be a chosen descriptor for Charlie’s parents, but lax? Sure. Careless? That would work. The Moore’s and their children lived without confinement or conformation, encouraged by the group of drifters they so often travelled with. A caravan of sorts had been created from a wide array of individuals desperate for a lifestyle that strayed from the norm. Some escaping their former lives, others were fond of the values, most just desperate for a community. Each member supported the others, picking up odd jobs across the states as they moved about. Even those too young for legal employment were expected to carry their weight, whether that be through internal domestic work or by being paid under the table. When honest money was hard to come by, however, many turned to less righteous means of earning. With each move came something rousing and new as well as an escape from any trouble they may have caused. This, along with the frequent late night festivities held within the bunch, kept the masses happy. Although exposed to recreational drug and heavy alcohol use for the entirety of her life, Charlie was sixteen-years-old when she first participated herself. This aspect of one’s upbringing was viewed as a milestone and was met with celebration and praise from the group. A therapist once told her that addiction can stem from positive reinforcement. She’ll tell you that the bender at age nineteen that left her hypothermic on the bank of the Mississippi River probably wasn’t caused by a pat on her back, but she likes having the excuse ready in her back pocket. The young adult had barely escaped her teens when she pushed herself out of what she now knows to be a sect that her family had been laced within. Perhaps it was the facade of freedom and free will or the unconventional standards being stamped upon vulnerable people, but both her ambitions and moral compass were pointing her anywhere but there. She struggled for over a year to make up for her lost education through faux homeschooling, but eventually obtained her GED. A resume donned with a list of work experience to shame most middle aged adults made snagging a job at an eccentric hostel in New York easy. Despite residual challenges associated with substance abuse including a short stint in county jail, she stayed in that position for a few happy years. When the elderly owner of the hostel passed, a chain was quick to swoop in and wipe it clean of anything unique, including Charlie. A listing for a run-down Victorian on the edge of the city with an unbeatable price tag is what drew Charlie into Araminta. It was the ideal location for her newest project, a bed and breakfast, but the home was in dire need of restoration. Most of her days and many of her nights have been spent working there since her arrival. It was sleep deprivation that she originally blamed her hallucination on. Then the way the floodlights were bouncing off of the peeling paint. Then drugs. Was she high? She had to be having a bad trip. They were right, her brain was fried. There was no explanation for the tendrils of black curling into the shape of a canine. It was this, along with the realization of just how essential it is to connect with this community, that sent Charlie out the next morning to buy a church dress.

SKILLS & TALENTS
"What up? I’m Charlie. I’m 25 and I almost never learned how to fucking read."

[Resourcefulness] ⫻ Sure, Charlie would have a terrible time starting a fire in the Amazon. She’s certainly no SERE soldier, but she’s got a well-rounded quick wit and solid survival base that lends itself well to overcoming a variety of challenges. She spent enough time with low company to develop basic street-smarts and skills associated with the lifestyle chosen by her parents, including foraging and herbalism, were passed along to the youth. She wishes she’d been taught the Pythagorean theorem at that age instead, however. [Imitation] ⫻ Interactions with such a broad array of people, locations, and cultures as a child placed an importance on the ability to fit in enough to get by. This skill developed as Charlie aged and she finds it easy to morph her look and personality to conform when needed. Compartmentalizing makes this as simple as pulling on a new pair of shoes. Some may call it dishonest and inauthentic, she’d say she just adapts easily. [Passive Influence] ⫻ Being quickly able to assess a situation and where the power lies within an interaction is another of Charlie’s skills. Manipulating this information and forming herself to cater to those involved in an effort to get what she’d like comes naturally and it’s probably why she has only been arrested once.
