[@Lionhearted] hmm, would Thelan have some sort of specialized people to go after the witches used by Alovia and in general? Was thinking of making a Witch Hunter/Inquisitor type fella akin to Heinrich Kramer, Jakob Sprenger, Matthew Hopkins etc. except he'd be burning actual witches not just poor girls that annoyed the wrong people. If I did such a thing though, would there actually be any countermeasures to witches? I. E. Holy water or silver or the old Abrahamic style us of garlic, or some other anathema to users of magic? Was also thinking of him potentially being in origin owing to some Moorish upper crust that migrated to Thelan with their Hirdmen or something.
Naturally, the Moore people have a rivalry with the witches. Their lands are seen as 'spiritual' to them, whereas the witches see it as a place of unobtained power. Their mountainous terrain holds a lot of secrets and a lot of undiscovered ravines. They have found usage in a lot of the jewels of their land. While they don't delve in using magic, nor do they have a bloodline of using magic, they are able to use these jewels for their made-purpose. For example, they could have amethysts that are natural boons for protection against magic. I haven't really fleshed out this theory yet, but the rivalry is definitely set in stone. Aside from that, I love that idea for your character! I think it's definitely possible to make an Inquisitor-type character! I would say that those methods are for sure acceptable as countermeasures to a witch. I'm not really familiar with a lot of the methods, but maybe we can PM about it and I can write it in within the OOC! I think the migration idea is definitely possible. The Isle of Moore and Thelan trade often so it wouldn't be to any surprise to have Moore people living within Thelan. Though, the Moore people generally prefer to reside in their homelands unless required otherwise.
