She felt a mix of joy and dread. Those words often uttered by people normally dragged in trouble. Cora nodded quickly, unwilling to speak so she didn't worsen their moods. She knew in her heart that she, too, would do whatever it took to protect them. Cora glanced at her hands, recalling the fire she had created on their first night. That had been out of adrenaline and fear. Would she be able to create anything bigger than that? Her fireballs were effective and she was able to create a small campfire. She wondered how much else she was capable of with her fire. After Kenia beckoned Rei and her upstairs, Cora began making a mental list of her belongings. There was her mace, pocket knives and her supreme sweatshirt. It had been salvaged, thankfully, and much to her relief. It wasn't much, but it reminded her of her home and early life. She began to gather them and stuff them into a bag. She began to grab whatever she had in her room and stuff it away. The less that anyone could find of them, the better. She wondered what Kenia's answer to Rei would be and began to listen carefully for it. Her heart began racing as dread filled her. How much longer did they have until something else happened? How much danger would Nym be in? She felt guilt rise inside of her, but knew it wasn't her fault. That damn fox had caused it - and if she saw him again... It took her a moment to notice the fire in her hands. Her reflection, as she turned to glance at the dresser, showed the flames. Cora sighed and looked at her hands. While climbing the steps, Cora had heard the stairs creaking and knew Rei was undoubtedly nervous as well. His discomfort at affection had been evident as well. Cora couldn't help but wonder - what had her group gone through in order to be this distant to people? She wasn't about to press them right now. Cora finished packing her personal belongings and looked at Kenia for an answer.[/color]
