Name: Matai Fleck Age: 25 Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Position: Last child of the fallen House Fleck Personality: Matai is a man who finds comfort in the presence of books or the dead. He can read a book and understand what it tries to convey. After looking into the dead, he can understand what killed them. People are much harder to deal with, and thus, he can find himself at a loss for words or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time to people. If he could hole himself in a library he would. Weaknesses: Slow to trust: Can be single-minded Not a social speaker Appearance: Matai stands at 5’4” He has dirty blond hair which he keeps short. His face is clean-shaven (not that he can grow hair on a good day) and holds a boyish look that makes him appear younger than he is. He has dark green eyes. A small scar runs diagonally across his right eyebrow. Background: As a child, Matai would often be found with his nose in a book. His brothers and sisters teased him about it, but it never bugged him. He got back at them by with pranks caused no harm and could be seen as simple accidents. Nothing that couldn’t be laughed off. Then his little sister got sick. It started off as a cough, nothing to pay attention to, but then it got worse. She started to get massive, body-wracking coughs that brought up blood. She passed a few weeks later in the night while Matai was at her side. It was an awful tragedy that struck the whole family, but it wasn’t the only one. Soon, another brother got sick, then a sister. Before he knew it, Matai was the only one in his family that hadn’t gotten sick. Because of that, he was sent away to a neighbouring house with one of the family’s guardsmen to spare him from the sickness. As the two of them were on the road, they were attacked by a group of four bandits. The guardsman was better skilled than the bandits and cut them all down, but not before getting wounded fatally. The last thing that Matai remembered was the light fading from his guard’s as he lay against a tree. Matai was told what had happened before he woke up in Mother Ashwood’s cult. They had found the bandits on the road, with his guard standing over them and holding Matai. The guard had turned to the one that found them and asked them to keep Matai safe before falling to the ground, dead. They had seen potential in him and brought him into the cult. Matai had no say in the matter. If he broached the subject of leaving, he’d have the fact that they saved him hung over his head. Without a way out, Matai decided to learn what he could from the cult. As it turned out, there was some sort of potential in his abilities and he could grasp the understanding of Necromancy faster than most, and for the next 12 years, he studied and improved and even started some experiments of his own, but he’d never trust anyone who’d hold him being saved as over his head, and if he got a chance to get out, he would. Skills: An adept Necromancer: Matai has spent the past 12 years studying Necromancy, and with the help of some natural talent, he’s reasonably skilled in necromancy, can probably raise two undead to fight for him or hold one undead indefinitely. A skilled surgeon: Years of studying corpses has given Matai an understanding of the bodies of a few races. But corpses aren’t all that he has practice bandaging up. The cult medic decided to train Matai in how to fix up all but the most severe types of wounds.
