His mother had died shortly after his birth, leaving his father to raise him alone. Rather than leaving his son at home-- not really a home, more like a rundown shack with walls that barely kept the wind out -- he strapped baby Klava to his back as he played the violin on the streets, living on tips and spare cash to feed him and his son. He did this for years and managed to scrape up enough money to buy another violin, and once Klava became old enough, he learnt how to play too. He and his dad took the streets and began doing duets, through snow storms and freezing temperatures, anything to get some money. But soon his father developed a cough, playing it off as a simple cold, until he couldn't hide it anymore. All of the days he spent playing out in the snow had caused problems within his lungs and an illness developed, getting worse and worse over time. Infact, Klava's father knew he found out he was sick years before, but hid it for Klava's benefit. He knew that if he continued to play the violin out in the snow for much longer, his illness would get worse. But the money that he got would be enough to get Klava out of the country and to somewhere safer, maybe even the Main City. So he kept it all a secret, taking secondhand medicine in private and hiding his blood soaked tissues from his son. But then the cough got worse and worse until he couldn't hide it anymore. Once he found out, Klava sold his violin, something his father had worked so hard for, to buy some real medicine but by that time, his father's illness was untreatable. Klava went on to sell his father's violin to buy a proper bed so that his father could rest peacefully in his last days. Towards the end his father called him close and apologized for not being able to give him the life he deserved and pulled out Klava's violin, which he had bought from the man who Klava sold it to. With his last breathes, he told Klava to leave this godforsaken country and go live his life in sun, playing beautiful music wherever he went. He died afterwards and Klava took his words to heart, selling everything he could, apart from his precious violin, to move to the Main City and receive an education to get a good job. His time at the Academy was hard. He was years behind the other students, having never even seen a real book before, but he spent all his time studying, inbetween playing his violin. He had to repeat classes multiple times just to pass them, using the money that his father had left him to pay for them, and finally after years and years of trying, he graduated from the Academy. He immediately went to the Council and applied for a job, any job, since everyone in the North idolized the Council like celebrities, too far away to hear about the true horrors surrounding it. He was surprised when he got accepted so quickly and blessed his father's spirit, knowing that it was because of him that he was accepted to become a Royal Protector, the highest paying job in all of Wiz. He was assigned to Prince Belvedere and was eager to begin his new life, full of hopeful promises and opportunities. Sadly, being Prince Belvedere's Protector was more then it cracked up to be. He was nothing but a insolent, demanding child; a bratty little Prince who couldn't even tie his own shoes without someone deciding it for him. Every two minutes Belvedere would ask him something like " Should I do this?" and " What would happen if I did this?" and " Klava, what do you think is best?" and then completely fly off the handle if the wrong option was picked. Klava would play his violin to Belvedere during his anger fits in an attempt to calm him down, but the other would just get angrier, threatening to burn it if he ever played it again, so he didn't. Klava's untimely demise came in the hands of his Prince. One of Belvedere's most prized possessions went missing, an enchanted mirror, that was a gift from his twin Bellarino, and Klava was instantly accused of stealing. "You'd just jump at the chance to steal something of mine, right, you dirty little northener? You think you can steal something of mine and get away with it? Something my brother gave to me?? To what? Send money back to your town back home so that they'll have a blanket to keep warm at night? Pathetic, using my things for something so useless." He had no chance to argue, to explain that he didn't even know what item it was that went missing, so there was no way that he could have stolen it, but Belvedere had him incarcerated. After a week in prison and no sign of the mirror reappearing, Klava was charged as guilty and was sentenced to be executed. Right before his execution, Belvedere stopped by and Klava had a sliver of hope that he would call the whole thing off, that he was acting to immaturely for killing someone over a mirror, but he should have known better. The Prince had only stopped by to bring him his beloved violin, to give him the pleasure of watching Belvedere smash it to pieces against the floor and burning it afterwards. Klava was beheaded an hour later and a new Protector took his place.[/center]
