The year is 1265, two years after the Battle of Sodden Hill. The Northern Kingdoms seek to reestablish control over the lands Nilfgaard had confiscated from them, and reports of an ancient ruin in the forested hills near Toussaint have found an old fortress, known as Rakald Keep in the Vicount Valley, behind Nilfgaard lines. At the behest of King Foltest, mercenaries, adventurers, sorcerers, workers, and even (2) Witchers have been hired to move past the rift of Sodden to the keep, clear it of monsters and make it working again. If they accomplish this, then they receive a fifth of the revenue for the next year of all the northern kingdoms to be divided between the party, a veritable treasure. Who will brave the monster infested hills of the new Nilfgaard?
