Grail Objective: The grail was an excellent energy resource, to be used for plunging the world into an age of mystery once more by feeding it to his magnus opus. The fact he could meet so many varying individuals with their respective terrors was just the cherry on top. Personality: The picture of a gentleman. Always polite and minding his manners, it wouldn’t be wrong to call him a walking, living, British stereotype. Yet underneath that facade was a deranged individual, proclaiming himself a “true artist”, in pursuit of his goal, his path filled with corpses and fear. He will take every precaution, every trick and use every atrocity as a means to the end. He does not care for the world. The only thing fueling him was his unending curiosity and desire to see humanity at its lowest. Yet there was a certain respect, in a sense. After all, a bright enough light cast an even larger shadow. Thus, he relished the back and forth, of terror and courage, of degradation and evolution. Those who were caught in the crossfire, the ones stuck in the twilight, were of no concern. Bio (Family and Self): The Ainsworth had a history that could be traced back to nine hundred years ago. Their goal was to ascend humanity to a higher plane of existence, in order to save them and thus the world. True allies of justice, wishing for the good of all, to pave the way to the Root with everyone. Their focus and speciality lied in the modification of flesh and the creation of homunculus, as well as in the research of the soul. Their potential was on par with the Einzbern and some scholars of magecraft believed they could’ve been on the same level. If they still existed. No one knew how it could happen. The birth of this irregular abomination. Instead of being driven to bring salvation to mankind, Jacob Ainsworth did not care. The heartfelt beliefs, the sorrow at other people’s suffering, the descending insanity that began to coil around the family, brought on by the despair of not being fast enough on their path... they all left him cold. No, that wasn’t quite true. He savored their despair. Their fear for the future, of the unknown. Whether they would reach their goals or not. It was like he found his calling, to cause it himself, to push others as the very darkness. If they broke or overcame it, it didn’t matter, both were equally enticing. But one day, he grew tired of the same faces, of the same talks, of the same chidings. So in the end, he decided to end it all. One by one, piece by piece, he tore the family apart from the inside. He burned bodies, broke sacred texts and devoured what could be useful to him. Naturally, even if it took a while, the Magus Association was out for blood immediately. A rogue, killing and destroying an important family before it could reach its Golden Age? Families banded together to hunt him down. But Jacob was not foolish. He knew how to hide in the darkness, better than those who pretended that they lived in the shadows. Still, that didn’t mean he stayed idle. At first, he only targeted other magi, trying to gather knowledge for himself. Yet after a while, he realized he needed to do something different. In order to strengthen the core of his magecraft, to make sure it would work anywhere, at anytime, he needed to target the public. The part of the world that decided the Human Order. Thus, he began aiming for the prostitutes in London. Naturally, once the Clock Tower caught wind of his actions, they became livid as his presence struck fear into the hearts of humanity. At last, he made a breakthrough. Using his newest advances, he began his work to create a being that would further his goal: A symbol of fear and darkness. The monster that existed in the darkness, in the corner of man, never seen, but still present. Like the Wild Hunt, he would appear in night and whisk the foolish victims away, led and chased by his Black Hound. Unfortunately, he couldn’t finish it. Five lives, on top of all the raw material he gathered from before, with the fear of an entire city, those were potent ingredients. Yet his Hound was barely grown. A fearsome monster to be sure, but nothing against the Executors that hunted it down. A set back, for sure. Yet nothing of consequences. After all, he knew it was possible. The creation of a beast that could one day enter the realm of the divine and complete his goal. He just needed more. Not in London however. He was confident, but even he knew he overstayed his welcome there. Heroes of Justice, Fanatics and such were starting to gain on him. In the end, he went to other countries, with a light heart and his actions having reinforced his foundation ever so slightly. ✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ Magic Circuit Switch: The sun, devoured by a black wolf, as an image Number of Magic Circuits: B Quality of Magic Circuits: A ✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ Elemental Affinity: Darkness Attribute - Absorption: The attribute that lends itself to consuming and repurposing certain elements. Jacob uses it to fuel himself, may it be magical energy itself or more abstract concepts like fear, as well as reinforce his magecraft and Mystic Codes, adding elements to it with ease. Magecraft: General Foundations: What was a man without a proper foundation? Not a gentleman, of course. Naturally, as a former member of a prestigious family, on top of never slacking on his art, Jacob at more than a solid grasp on the basics of magecraft. Boundary Fields specifically were simple for him. After all, sometimes the most valuable places were also the most guarded. Mystery Invocation - Darkness: If eyes were the first magecraft of humanity, the tools to figure out mysteries before them, then the darkness was their foil, the first mystery of mankind. The unknown that a man couldn’t figure out, the shadows that a person couldn’t see through. Using this as his foundation, Jacob was excelling in “dark arts”. Whether it to hide himself, using the shadows as his strings, manipulating the memories of his surroundings, all those effects got reinforced by invoking the oldest of mysteries. Naturally, it let itself the best for terror tactics. After all, to be ignorant was not reassuring at all. Spiritual Evocation: The magecraft concerning the interaction with spiritual beings. One of the Ainsworth specialties, it was only natural that Jacob dabbled in it. While he wasn’t a “monster” on the level of certain other people, his mastery of it was sufficient enough to interact with souls in a way that suited his needs. Familiar Creation: The ability to create another being as a servant and extension of one’s will. Naturally, as Jacob created his Hound as a magical beast meant to become a Black Dog and beyond, a true symbol of terror, it was natural that he had a good hand for this kind of thing, especially with the materials he had at hand. Surgery: One of Jacob’s specialties, the act of healing, damaging and manipulating the flesh of fellow men and animals. With the need for proper research and ingredients, he made it as part of his goal to reach the pinnacle of the manipulation of bodies. If he had the right tools at hand. Crest: The magic crest of the Ainsworth. Damaged due to Jacob's actions to take it for himself as part of his act to kill his clan but it still is powerful, being a remnant of a 900 year old history. Mystic Codes: Eye of Odin - A Gentleman’s Monocle Glasses. The crystallization of wisdom, worn by many across the ages, including a certain dragon slayer. One might thing a single glass would give less wisdom, but they would be wrong. After all, did not the head chief of the Norse Pantheon also have one eye, to have wisdom? Thus, combining both aspects, the God Odin and the representation of wisdom, Jacob was able to make a wisdom granting device like none other. While he could only have one eye open to activate its effects, they were potent. Attuned to his attribute, those who tried to hide in their own darkness would fail. Attempts to hide their intentions and words would find themselves in quite the pickle! Tarnkappe - Garment of Privacy Yet another puzzle piece that made Jacob into the man he became now. Hiding one's presence was more difficult than expected. Try as one might to use a cloak to hide themselves, the cloak would still be visible. But it was nothing he couldn’t fix himself. For one, his attribute synergized perfectly with this kind of tool. Adding items and elements he could find from assassins from all over time and space, he managed to complete it to a level that satisfied him. The concept of clothes, the cloak specifically, representing one's desire to "hide" away certain things. The body. One's identity. While it couldn’t turn him completely invisible, his outfit still boosted his skills regarding “hiding”. The shadows were essentially a second skin to him, memories of items and humans had difficulties to keep him clear and more importantly, no annoying divination nor tracking shall have an easy time with him. Obscurity was the name of the game after all. He may not be as hidden as a servant of the Assassin Class but every bit helped. Bloodstained Flagpole - The Vengeance of the Conquered It may have been a foolish habit of his, but Jacob truly needed a walking cane. Not that he had issues with walking, oh no. But he sincerely believed that a true gentleman needed to present himself properly. And a cane just added a certain flair to it. Naturally, not any cane could do. While wood wasn’t his specialty, he still put a lot of effort into this Mystic Code. Perhaps even the most. First, it required a proper story. Not anything could do. While the wood of various lands, like America and Africa, could be good reinforcement reagents, it needed a good foundation. One day, in an idle walk in a museum, he saw it. The flagpole of a saint. The symbol of resistance and liberty. Was it the real deal? Was it a fake? It didn't matter. What mattered was what people thought it was. And for them, it was that very symbol. In that moment, he had to get it. And get it he did. After taking off the flag, for it was in the way, and cutting it into form before adding the reagents, it was completed. Perverted, by the bloodstained wood, filled with the agony and terror of the ancestors whose lands were stolen. Wielded by him, the darkness. Thus, its power to “take over” reinforced his ability to attune himself to the lands around him, to create his workshops and such. Not exactly the stealing and perversion of other lands as he imagined, but one couldn't always succeed, right? Exceptional Benefit: Preparation: Hearing about the Holy Grail War, Jacob would be a fool not to participate. He would be an even bigger one if he wouldn't arrive early to prepare his "hunting grounds" so to say. Sneaking into Japan and preparing was easy enough for someone like him. Other equipment: An assortment of knives, for close combat, for throwing or just for surgical procedures

Name: Gensai Kawakami Title: Hitokiri Class: Assassin Gender: Female Birth and Death Dates: 25 December 1834 – 13 January 1872 Attribute: ???? Alignment: Lawful Neutral Personality:
Someone that could be considered the picture of a Yamato Nadeshiko at first. Polite and well spoken, this woman enjoyed the peaceful tasks of tea ceremony, household and cleaning. As long as her master didn't treat her badly, she shall act as a caretaker for them. However, underneath the surface, the blood lust that gained her the name of “Manslayer” dwelt. The art of killing and the process of killing was one of her greatest joy. This mania could be explained as her seeing “death” as the greatest gesture of respect in a fight and anything not resulting in it could merely be called “playing around” and not “fighting” in her eyes. But outside of extreme circumstances, the woman had a good hold on this side of her personality and might only slip in a bloodthirsty or excited grin occasionally. She will heed her masters orders and focus on the big picture as much as she could. As woman that was proud of her heritage, her politeness might slip when facing Westerners or Japanese people that advocated Western views, but it was not strong enough of an emotion to call as “hate”. If need to, she can remain frosty but professional and it is possible to make her respect them. Her desire for the Holy Grail was a rather simple one: Perfect the art she was never able to in her life. If it meant facing opponents that might be way stronger than her, so be it. If it meant using the Holy Grail for reincarnation to reach her goal, she would not hesitate. While her belief in Japan's roots and her dislike of Westerners was there as always, she recognizes who lost and who won at the time and accepts the results, thus being left with only her selfish goal.
Appearance:
A mature woman one might say, giving off the aura of a senior or even an older sister. Her red eyes are usually slightly covered behind strains of her white hair. A tint of red is present on her pony tail, giving one the impression that a stain of blood just didn't want to get washed out. Her outfit doesn't completely cover her moderate curves and unlike what most would expect from a samurai, Assassin dressed more like a cleaner. Black sleeves only reached up to her elbows, as they were folded up in a practical manner. Her kimono was held by a beautiful silver sash that doubled as a hold for her weaponry as well. Weapon: One Katana with a white hilt and a star pattern and a wakizashi with a black hilt as a back up weapon. Early on, she began to study Kenjutsu in the local school, the Jishukan. However, contrary to believe, her track record was not really amazing. The reason was rather simple: She considered it beneath her. While she was proud of her heritage of a samurai, and never missed practice, Kenjutsu was nothing more than child's play where people pretended to be warriors. Still, the experience she would learn here would become the basis of her legend. At the age of sixteen, she was called to serve as a menial in charge of cleaning. Most samurai would be offended by such a low level position, but it was perhaps of her true idendity that she didn't mind much. Wholeheartedly dedicating herself to the job, she kept up her martial training, but also picked up literary and cultural skills, such as the tea ceremony and flower arrangement. During that time, she would meet the two people who would be important in the activities of the Ishin Shishi: Todoroki Buhei and Miyabe Teizo. Their many discussions led to her interest in the concept of kinno, or imperial loyalty, which resonated with her pride of being a samurai. In the following decade, her dislike for Westerners intensified as a response to the unequal treaties the shogunate entered. Leaving Edo in anger and returning to her home in Kumamoto, she entered the Gendokan academy, where she studied the philosophy of kinno more thoroughly before returning to Edo once more. After the Ansei Purge and the assassination of Ii Naosuke, Kawakami Gensai treated the culprits with respect and care, giving treatment to them and having a private tea ceremony. It was at this point that Gensai was fully committed to the cause after her respect for the kinno mindset rose. After marrying Misawa Teiko, a woman and highly skilled martial artist who she loved dearly and adopting a son that would soon outlive her, Gensai would leave her job as a cleaner and her service in Kumamoto in order to serve as Sanjo Sanetomi's personal bodyguard. In that very time, her most famous assassination occurred by her hands. It was also the very first time that she assassinated someone. Not fight in self defense or in a dojo, but stalking her target before taking their head off. Sakuma Shozan was someone she respected as one of the greatest, pro-Westerner or not. Thus, she was extremely cautious as she approached him. Trying her best to empty her mind and matching his breath, Gensai promised herself to give him one swift death. The moment she committed the deed, something changed in her. For the first time in her life, she actually felt, truly felt, a person die by her hands. Her hair stood on end, her breathing was heavy and the experience was borderline mind breaking to her. It was in that moment that she cemented her belief that death was the greatest honor a person could experience in a battle. The explanation as of why Kenjutsu meant nothing to her and that only now she felt like a killer: A symbiotic experience with the one she killed, experiencing his death as if it was her own. Like possessed, she would strife to recreate this moment. Mimicking the conditions of that very kill with other targets who would never be confirmed to be hers, she developed her own style, the Shiranui-Ryu, in order to make the “single experience” into “a part of her life”. Honing her style with assassinations and even on the battlefield during the Choshu Expeditions, her title as “Manslayer” was guaranteed. By the time people realized her true sex, those who mattered didn't care as long as the Manslayer did her job for their shared purpose. Gensai herself was not bothered if those who didn't matter slandered her or outright twisted the truth, keeping up the lie of her being male. However, her luck would soon run out as she surrendered to overwhelming odds in Kokura, shortly after the Meiji Restoration. While she was allowed to be released and she stopped her life as a manslayer, being sensible enough to realize that it would lead to her early grave, she refused to give up on her beliefs and loyalty. Harboring Kiheitei stragglers, she would be arrested in November 1870 and excuted in the next year in 13 January 1872 in Tokio. Her dream of having death as her constant companion slipped from her grasp, which might have been her only regret.
Parameters: STR: D AGI: A END: D MAN: E LCK: D Class Skills Presence Concealment: C Hides one's presence as a Servant. Suitable for spying. The rank of Presence Concealment drops considerably when preparing to attack. As someone that lived in recent times and committed her assassinations mostly during the day, she was well versed in hiding within the crowd. Personal Skills: Manslayer A: A sword skill specialized to cutting down humans with a blade. Grants “bonus damage” as long as the target is fully human. Effects lessened the less human the target is. As one of only four known individuals of her time, she was considered one of the deadliest killers that could rightly consider normal men as their “prey”. Meshes excellently with her personal style, which was less focused on “the truth” and more focused on “the reality of death”. Eye of The Mind (True) B: Capable of calm analysis of battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. Experience gained by the numerous assassinations in her life and having participated in several wars where she had to fight for her life, Assassin has developed a keen mind for combat, always planning and considering her options when going for the kill. Shiranui Ryu B+: A style specialized in high speeds and “fighting at any time”. Graceful with iaijutsu and savage with wide swings, this style was highly difficult to see through without any specific skills. At this rank, the first strike in the battlefield she recognizes as her own, outside of miracles or outside interference, belongs to her and her alone. For some reason however, she can only use this effect when its day. Becomes even faster when the target is unaware of Assassin. Unlike the Jigen-ryu, it is not limited to just the first strike to be effective nor did it require any specific form to “activate” this effect, though Assassin prefers the iaijutsu. A style Assassin has developed in her life, thus she had gained this rank of mastery. Unlike famous masters like Yagyu Munenori however, it had not reached the pinnacle in her life, as she didn't devote herself to the blade and focused more on an art that specializes in killing. Noble Phantasm: Kyousei – Symbiotic Understanding Of Death Rank: B NP Type: Anti-Unit Range: 1 Maximum Targets: 1 Description: The representation of Assassin's most famous kill in her history. Taking Sakuma Shozan's head, it was the first time she'd felt she had truly killed someone. As she had perfectly matched his breath, it was like she had experienced his death herself. This experience had shook the core of her being, Desiring to feel it again and again, she pushed herself to replicate this scenario and sought to perfect this technique, as the ultimate expression of respect to any opponent she might face. One strike, one kill, a complete union between killer and victim. Once activated, Assassin's next attack shall end the enemy in one strike. As shallow as the cut may be, the enemy will die with absolute certainty. However, two conditions are required to bring out the full potential of this Noble Phantasm: It has to be during daylight and the target has to be completely human. If one of those conditions isn't met, the attack shall only carry a “promise to cut” instead of imposing death on the target, merely retaining the sharpness of the Noble Phantasm. If none of the conditions are met, the Noble Phantasm cannot be activated. Assassin can use this skill in mid battle but usually refrains from “repeatedly using it”, as she sees it as an insult to herself and her opponent. However, she is willing to use it if she personally detects “an opening that shall lead to death” in order to maximize her chances.
