He is 26 years old. Governor of Tamzin, Taanir helped to expose the last Governor as a slaver, who was selling their people for personal profit. As the indirect catalyst that saw the man hang, Taanir became popularly known among the settlement. His reputation for being honest and fair, and his willingness to call out even his superiors for being unjust, gave him a platform to run for the newly vacant governorship. His mother died soon after he began his campaign, bitten by a white serpent, leaving him alone to care for his younger sister. Just as he was about to give up, his long-lost aunt and cousin arrived to warn him his main political opponent was consorting with pirates. Once again exposing a slaver in their midst guaranteed him the title of Governor, but in the fallout his sister was captured. His cousin Zash rescued her, and his aunt stayed to care for her. She is 18 years old. The younger sister to the Governor of Tamzin, Taanir. Five years ago when her brother was elected to the position she was nearly sold into slavery by West Wind pirates hired by his opposition, but she was saved by her long-lost cousin Zash whom had returned to warn them of the plot. A few months before that her mother was bitten by a white serpent and died, leaving them orphans. Her aunt Rama, Zash's mother, stepped up to help take care of her. She is 42 years old. She was born in Tamzin, Rama lost her parents young, too long ago for her to have any memory of them, and was raised by her elder siblings, of which she had seven in total. She always felt like a burden to them, so she always had big dreams about taking control of her own life. Being the smartest kid around gave her the confidence she needed to believe she could, and finally she did when a fire cost her family everything. She left without a word, rationalizing her escape as one less mouth they'd need to feed, and set out to make a life for herself. She met a Scholar, a man named Dean, in Bogorta, who helped round out her education and track down the Syans. She acquired herself a Syborn child and named him Zashahim- Zash for short. She later left Dean behind and dealed herself onto a Dominus, the Jackal, with her son in service to a man named Rado Bladić. She, along with her son, adopted the Kital philosophy for themselves. She lived in relative safety and comfort until she was coerced to return to Tamzin and adopt her orphaned niece. She reunited with her former flame, Dean, and made new life in the place of her birth. Dean is 40 years old and is from Argencagu, or rather a little community adjacent to Argencagu called Vineira, but it functions the same. At some point in his life he studied aboard the Musaeum and became a Scholar, but he enjoyed teaching more than studying on the Dominus so he frequently left. It was on one such trip to Bogorta where he would meet Rama and her son Zash. He fell in love with the cunning and driven woman, but was too late to win her affections before she left. Dean later established a school in Tamzin, her birthplace, and reunited with the two when they finally returned five years ago. He hasn't left since and doesn't intend to, content with the life he'd made there. (See Zashahim Gemelgaid CS by Ceta de Cloyes)
