[/quote] That's not to say though that trying to fill roles or niches in a group is a bad thing. Having a group with a wider array of characters in terms of roles, identities, and personalities always makes more varied character interactions. It can also be a fun challenge to write to a very particular brief and help you push outside your comfort zone or find roles you really like but had never tried. But when its at this kind of stage, where no one has been accepted, and there is no 'group' to slot into as of yet - then yeah, the best bet is probably just to follow your heart!
