Name: Adalinda "Lindy" Carlson Age: 16 Appearance:

At 5'4", Lindy is small and unassuming looking. While often neatly presented, she opts for simple clothing, usually a plain white dress. Being semi reptilian, she feels the cold earlier in the year than most and dresses accordingly, favouring jackets with hoods that her snakes can curl into. Her serpent necklace is an accessory she's almost never seen without. Archon DNA Donor: Balaur Abilities: Lindy’s most obvious Archon feature is her hair, or rather the five snakes she has for hair. On the surface, they resemble ordinary snakes, but like Balaur, they can extend entire mouthfuls of fangs. These fangs can inject a powerful neurotoxin. Depending on severity of the bite, poisoning can result in anything from mild muscle seizures to full on temporary paralysis, possibly causing death by respiratory failure if left untreated. The snakes are extensions of Lindy’s body rather than independent beings; she has full control over their movements, and can use them as limbs by wrapping them around objects. She can also see through them, the effect being similar to viewing several scenes by camera. As with a camera, though, she cannot fully concentrate on all at once. Her main focus is that of a regular human, on what’s right in front of her. She has a milder version of Balaur’s regenerative ability. Her wounds heal twice as fast as those of a non Zasshu human, and while she would not be able to grow back a severed arm or leg, her snakes would regrow if cut off. Whereas Balaur can regenerate a serpent head in a day, it takes Lindy around a week to do the same. Personality: Softspoken, gentle and polite, albeit a little wary and timid, Lindy is the kind of person some may underestimate. She avoids conflicts whenever possible, doing her best to keep situations from getting out of hand. Despite this nonconfrontational demeanour, she's in fact far from weak. Radiating a quiet strength, she's highly determined, focused on her duties and protective of her friends. Part of her reserved attitude is due to her fear of harming others, which is why she takes self-discipline so seriously. She knows that if she isn't careful, her controlled behaviour could give way to feral instincts. Backstory: One of the earlier Zasshu, Adalinda or "Project Medusa" was born in America with the DNA of one of New San Francisco's destroyers. As such, scientists overseeing the project always knew they'd have to keep a close eye on her. She spent much of her time in the lab, being rigorously studied and trained, so it was a welcome break whenever she got to stay with her family. Even with TDC operatives watching over her, hanging out with her older brother and sister made her feel like a normal child. This all changed, however, when she was 11. An Asura rampaged through the city, destroying her home. The TDC managed to evacuate her and her family, but her monstrous side kicked in as she went into a panicked frenzy. As her mother tried to calm her down, Lindy lashed out and attacked her, only coming to her senses when she realised what she'd done. She was restrained in the lab right away, and her mother only survived thanks to an antidote the scientists created. There was much debate over how to handle the incident. Some deemed Project Medusa a failure that should be scrapped. Others argued that, for all her monstrous traits, Adalinda Carlson was still ultimately a human being with rights. The latter side won out, but only because with the Tenshi crisis, the world couldn't afford to lose a Zasshu. Her family were on this side despite everything, although they became justifiably afraid of her. A tough decision had to be made, and Lindy was separated from them, relocated to a safer place. Japan. She spent years with only the company of researchers as she continued her training, her focus being on self-control. Eventually, though, others like her were brought to the safe haven Japan offered. The time had come for her to meet and work with her fellow Zasshu, protecting society against the Tenshi while controlling her own Archon traits. Other: Although she hasn't seen her family in a long time, she still keeps in touch via phone and email. One of her most treasured possessions is an adjustable snake necklace, a gift she received at age 10 from her mother, a reminder to embrace her Archon features and that they make no difference to her loved ones. Considering the incident a year afterwards, she doesn't know if her mother still believes that, but wears the necklace anyway.
