She formed fireballs in both hands and quickly set the linen ablaze. The fireplace roared to life and began to smother the linens. After she burned them, Corvina quickly finished packing the rest of her belongings. She was then instructed by Kenia to burn the rest of the house. Corvina stared at the Elven woman and bit her lip. Burn the whole house? She nodded again, though in compliance. Once they were out of the house, Corvina stood alone in the foyer. The gasoline stayed around her, though she didn't have fear of being burned. Cora quickly tied her hair into a bun and smoothed the rest of it out of her face. Cora then looked at the mask Kenia had pulled over her face in on the first day and tied it around her mouth and nose as well. She took a few steps away and summoned the flames once more on her hands. She shut her eyes and took several deep breaths. Quickly, the hallway began to light up with flames. She continued to imagine the household in flames with total devastation following. The roar of flames greeted her, though it wasn't enough. She focused harder and began to shoot fireballs in different directions. Corvina turned in circles and stepped away from the gasoline before that area lit up. She then turned to watch as the portraits of Kenia's children lit up and spoke softly to it: "May you beautiful blessings rest in peace and may you never be forgotten. I can tell your mother loves you still." Corvina then shot fireballs into both of them in which they quickly began burning. They would be gone within minutes. Cora then began to stride through the house, checking off which rooms were burning and which needed some more incentive. She glanced upstairs and found it hadn't lit on fire yet. She growled and shot more fireballs at it. Her focus was stronger than before, but not enough. She shut her eyes as she moved up the steps and halted. What else could she did? She shut her eyes and took deep breaths. She imagined the dragolich nearly burning them alive and suddenly the flames grew stronger, but still not enough. She opened her eyes to gaze at the damage. More fire had eagerly licked up the gasoline. No, nothing from Avalia would be enough for her yet. Corvina had only been semi-conscious that night. She took another deep breathe and began searching her past. Pain began to emerge. She wished she could never remember this day. Tears formed in her eyes, but she bit them back and opened them. She held her hands out as flames began erupting around the house...
Loud thuds echoed throughout the house as Corvina dragged a suitcase on wheels behind her and a rolling backpack. Her feet weren't quiet either, adding to the noise. With a deep grunt, Cora lifted both items onto her bed as she savagely stuffed her clothes into them. She kicked her bed as she did so with a few choice curse words. Cora looked at her pillows and shoved both items into her suitcase. She looked at a few photographs sitting on the desk and picked them up. She thrust each of them at the wall. They shattered loudly, and then slid onto the floor with dejection. The smiling trio was grinning at her still, as if mocking her. The tears were burning in her eyes and now rolling down her cheeks. They would never be the same. She would kill them both. "And where do you think you're going?" The familiar voice of her father, Ron - if she could call him that - filled the air. She didn't turn to look and tossed in more clothes. She didn't care what she grabbed or didn't grab; at this rate, all she wanted to do was leave a.s.a.p. "I'm leaving." Her voice shook, but she shoved in more clothes, then shoes into the bags for effect. She glimpsed his blue eyes filled with grief and sorrow, though he didn't try approaching her yet. "We can figure this out, you don't need to go. Besides, you need to rest and take your medications. Have you taken your pills?" Ron came inside and tried to hug her, but she pushed him away. He sighed as he watched her. He didn't know what to say, and Cora was glaring at the mention of her medication. It was the first time in while where she could think clearly, or so it seemed. Her brain was pulsating with anger. "I'm sure Linnet could help you-" Corvina whirled around with fury at the name and glared at him. Don't - don't mention her!" Cora shouted at him and pulled away from him again as he tried embracing her. She went to speak, but Ron glared at her with indignation and impatience now. The inability of him to hide it was obvious as well. He kept trying, but he was losing his mind at this point too. "Don't blame Linnet on your losses, Corvina. You two need to get along better, anyways, and you two could bond over it. That wasn't her fault you lost your val-" He tried to reply, but she cut him off with a harsh, bitter laugh. She slammed her computer into the suitcase none too gently, causing Ronald to scowl and add to his growing temper. Then, she yanked the mouse off the desk and thrust it into her bag as well. "Not her fault? Are you sure about that, Ronald?" Corvina had begun to shoot back when the Devil's mistress herself showed up. Cora wished she could punch that bitch down the steps and into oblivion. She had never been filled with such rage and hatred in her life. No, not even being bounced around homes, had she felt this type of anger. "Dad, what's going on?" Linnet bounced into the room, much to Corvina's chagrin. She glared at the stupid black haired blue-eyed monster. Why couldn't she resemble the devil instead? Then her parents would know what a rotten, spoiled and jealous bitch she truly was. Cora couldn't imagine the Devil being worse than her. "As if you don't know!" Cora shouted at her, unable to control her temper. She could see red at this point and her head might explode from the sheer anger she was feeling. "Quit acting like the dumb bitch you pretend to be and admit what you did!" There was pause as Linnet stared at her with a gleam in her eyes. Ron stared at her with horror and then came over and slapped Cora across the face. She stared with shock, the pain unable to reach her brain quite yet. She turned to slowly see Ron's face filled with rage. He pulled Linnet to his side and began coddling her, though Cora couldn't hear. Whether it was the sound of her heart breaking, or the blood pulsing through her veins, she would never know for sure. All she knew was that Ron left the room, yelling inaudibly at her and stomping around like Godzilla. There stood Linnet now, and Cora was shaking with anger, grief, remorse and also hatred. She didn't know who she hated more at this time: Linnet and Gale, or Ron; maybe even herself. She should have trusted herself and kept her dream to herself. This way, she wouldn't be standing here now, broken inside and watching Linnet relish in glory of her triumphs. Cora said nothing to her and grabbed both of her suitcases. She shoved passed Linnet and remained silent. It was in that moment that Linnet smiled wickedly at her as she passed. Cora ignored it and went to leave when Linnet spoke. "I just want you to know that Gale and I are going to enjoy our time in Colorado Springs. We'll be sending you postcards of the ice rink. Maybe we'll even dedicate our duet performance to you. 'To Corvina, the loser of foster kids, gone but never forgotten.' What do you think, Foster Kid? Maybe you can go to a mental institution and heal your mind, psycho." Something inside of Cora's mind snapped and she turned around to wail on Linnet. She stared with shock as Cora's fist connected with her nose and then her face repeatedly. "YOU RUINED MY LIFE!" Cora screamed and suddenly, footsteps came thundering inside. She couldn't hear the panicked voices of her foster parents. "You ruined my life and you know it! I hate you!" Cora didn't get to finish, since Ron and Lisa came tearing into the room. Linnet's bloody face was all she could see. She thrashed wildly in Ron's arms, while Lisa ran to comfort her now hysterical daughter. God, did they believe her fucking mediocre crying? Clearly, because now they were yelling at her. Their words traveled through her mind like an icicle: "WHAT is wrong with you! Attacking Linnie? She did nothing wrong! The doctors were right, you are crazy!" then Ron's voice screaming, "Get her out of here NOW! Don't come back!" Cora was thrust outside forcefully, unwilling to relent fighting. Her suitcases were shoved outside as well. Cora turned to glare at them as she stood up and dusted herself up. With a hair toss, her head held high and tears streaming down her face, Corvina left her home.
When Cora opened her eyes, not only were tears streaming down her face, but the entire house was scorched in flames. She wiped her eyes with her sleeves. She glanced at the house and relished the flames around her. A smirk crossed her face as she strode down the staircase and then towards the door. She stared at the wall of flames and raised her hands. The wall of fire parted for her as she strode out of it and rejoined the others. Cora didn't look back as her mind replayed the memory in her mind. This time, she wouldn't be betrayed, nor would she runaway from her problems. She wouldn't end up in that position ever again. Corvina vowed to herself she would trust herself more this time and do whatever it took to protect the ones beside her and herself in this strange world.

Corvina strode through the city quietly with the others. However, due to using so much of her magic, she felt drained and ate as much as she could. She needed something to keep her energy up and her worries dim. She had ate in silence during lunch, only making friendly chitchat. Once they were in an Inn safely did she begin speaking. She was slightly more upbeat and pleasant. She had sat down and rested her head against the wall behind her, with another cloth around her neck in case she had to use her power once more. "That would be nice, thanks Kenia. It would help us blend in more as well, though we should keep to our group only and maybe disguise ourselves a bit more. Is there anything else you can do with your magic? We don't know if that fox gave out our descriptions or not, so it might be best to hang as low as possible."
