Part of him wanted to ignore Aaron's advice, believing that such tactics made him appear guilty when he wasn't. But just because someone didn't like the advice given didn't mean it wasn't good advice. He didn't speak to the Princess, not sure if her addressing the room counted as reason for him to able to speak. His eyes darted over to Max, who for the most part appeared to be following the same terms of ettiquite that Aaron had laid out for him. His question was sound and Salem couldn't help but wonder if they would use mind magic for interrogation. His hand reached up behind his neck and began to rub it gently, thinking back to the dinner and how unpleasant that experience was. His eyes glanced about the room, avoiding the Princesses gaze as he saw the books she offered as reading as well as the decorations around her office. Finally his eyes landed on Eris as he spoke, head now lower than before as he caught the meaning behind his words. If word were to get out that Salem was involved in a murder, then surely Lady Sinnenodel would have the investigation closed, using this as evidence that he was clearly part of the Red Hand. Why hadn't he stayed with Lily? Or gone back to Aaron? This all became a fine mess but surely if he complied then they could see his innocence and move everything forward. Eris and Ryner seemed to have a handle on managing the whispers that could arise, and Salem was curious as to how efficiently the could do such a thing. Could he scrub Salems name from this mess? Muddle it? Or at the very least stop it from reaching the Lady of Aaron's new house. He wished to ask the Princess a question, yet he didn't want to interrupt the pair while discussing deals. He'd wait, and listen.
