It’s a mystery. Alignment: Chaotic Evil Rank: Objective for the Grail: To alter the nature of mankind at a fundamental and inherent level. Personality: A results-driven, almost reptilian youth. There is an evident distortion in them that, gleemed both from their ghoulish pallidity and the tiger-like golden glare with which they appraise the world. Unknowing of fear, uncaring of defeat, unrelenting in task, the one called Sunderban has shattered the shackles of human mentality, approaching the realm of a detached and predatory deity. Yet there is something else beneath it all — a contradictory hope that burns quietly in the recesses of Sunderban’s being. Jokes and sarcasm are not beneath Sunderban, surprisingly enough. Biography: The process of both creating and refining Gu poison is not something that was initially intended to be inflicted on humans. Sunderban is the result of such a process. Confined in a cavern with hundreds — both man and starving beasts — with no food and no light, the one called Sunderban is the only survivor. Having ingested the ‘poison’ of soul from each deceased being within the cavern through their miraculous survival. Inadvertently, Sunderban became a human who could overcome primordial fear, forming an indomitable albeit twisted mental constitution from that of a child. It was a desired outcome for the one who organised the ritual, creating something abjectly inhuman from one of the purest expressions of humanity: youth. The creature which would come to be called Sunderban was taken under the Dead Apostle’s wing, taking up the role of student, assistant and instrument — roles which saw him travel across the mainland and beyond, witnessing both the worst of the moonlit world and the worst of man. Sunderban was being forged into a vessel, something which could contain the power of their mentor. In a moment of keen awareness, Sunderban resisted such a fate, striking down their Mentor with a single treacherous blow, in one instant removing one of the major players in the politics of the Mainland’s moonlit world… And then they left. Poised to inherit it all, both the power of their mentor and their silent empire, Sunderban simply let it crumble. The Sunderban faded into the background, seemingly contenting themselves with a few years of mercenary servitude, entering the employment of various organizations across the continent for minor work, up to and including a particular organization of Houjutsu practitioners in Japan, although never with the Mage’s Association. They remained a relative unknown to the community of the Association, even in the East. But for the sake of one thing or another, Sunderban has emerged in Fuyuki, a crimson crest upon their hand. --- Origin: Galvanization Number of Magic Circuits: E, but largely unimportant. Quality of Magic Circuits: EX, distinctly inhuman and abnormal composition. Elemental Affinity: Metal (White Tiger), Fire (Vermilion Bird) Magecraft: Alchemy Of the Chinese variety. Sunderban is by no means a master, but they are versed in the fundamentals by osmosis and has the knowledge to create basic draughts, treatments and the like. Hardly enough to qualify them as a magus of any kind. Rudimentary workshop creation is possible, but limited to what is capable through Chinese alchemy and Gu poison. Chinese Martial Arts - Hung Ga Kuen The self-same martial art of the one who even the preeminent Li Shuwen recognized as superior. Sunderban’s mentor was a student of Zhi Shan Chan Shi before becoming an heir of one of the Crimson Moon’s disciples, making Sunderban something of a distant uncle to the legacy of the Wong family. Sunderban is a practitioner on the level of a Qing dynasty master. Sunderban is particularly skilled in the technique of ‘weishen’, allowing them to visualize movements that have yet to be made based on the moment to moment micro movements of creatures, and to further extrapolate in order to remain several steps ahead of their opponents. Golden-Caterpillar Cursed Blood Phenomena Sweat that can cause seizures, neurotoxic blood; a body of death. Surviving the Gu ritual has warped their very soul into an amalgamation of all the participants, refined into a supreme poison that exists as the one called ‘Sunderban’, a unique existence which can safely be separated from whatever they were before; the Gu poison is the body, and it can take on the qualities of an array of status effect harmful to living creatures. Simultaneously, Sunderban’s body is unaffected by things that could be called poison. Practically, this means that any form of physical contact with Sunderban’s skin carries a lethal risk to most forms of life. Regular humans do not need much in the way of dosage for their internal organs to begin failing, but for those things which are more resilient Sunderban may hone and focus the Gu poison into points of their body, effectively granting them access to a violently painful sure-kill attack against foes that will pose some form of resistance. More esoteric utilization of the Gu poison includes intentionally allowing fumes of evaporated sweat to enter the air, indiscriminately poisoning those nearby. In theory, if Sunderban were to embrace Witchcraft they would be a once-in-a-century prodigy, as their body is in essence a ‘perfected magecraft’ that would fuel its own actions. As it is, the Gu poison cannot be used by Sunderban to enact powerful workings due to their ignorance. However, their body nonetheless retains a large amount of magical energy, as well as being capable of generating it through the regulating and burning of Gu (grudges), resulting in Sunderban’s body being something of a microfurnace. No longer shall such a feeble, curse addled body malign you, Master, as my attentions shall elevate you and your humours above the meagre shell! … Tough crowd. I jest, I jest — I do hope my ‘unscrupulous surgeon’ ruse was convincing. Anyway, let us begin.” A peerless man in summoned, garbed neatly as a cool man of professional modernity. He speaks effortlessly and with a natural charisma which tempers his excessive passion for study and his genuine desire to bring forth the salvation of humanity. Despite this, he does not perceive himself as holy. Selfless, bearing the presence of a saint and savior of man, but — but it is twisted. To summon him was a mistake. Territory Creation B+ With sufficient preparation, Hippocrates is capable of creating a clinic. A clinic differs from a workshop or temple in that it does not confer the bonuses of one — but rather it serves to act as a place of restoration for all. As part of Hippocrates’ ideals, he is willing to aid anyone and anything, but any who seek aid from him are compliant with the effect of his 2nd Noble Phantasm. Although it can be found by any who desire ‘salvation’, it is otherwise out of sight and mind, its existence unknown until knowledge of it is required for ones well-being. --- Personal Skills Father of Medicine A+ A skill belonging to the unequaled Physician. It represents one status as the origin point of the practices of medicine in the western world and beyond. Simplified, it can be seen as a composite skill relating to all things medical. Importantly, this also encompasses an ability which would also be a Skill in and of its own right, the elusive Asclepian Mysteries, a school of ancient magecraft dedicated to the enactment of mending miracles. It would not be incorrect to call this a supreme skill, turning its owner from an individual into the very foundation of medical practice itself, and all that is contained within it. Unflappable A+ A skill belonging to those who excel at remaining calm in times of duress and crisis. All doctors of modernity attempt to imitate the discipline professionalism of Hippocrates, yet fail to quite capture the ever unfazed expression of the Physician. All things about him are measured and precise, he will always be calm, he will always be serious in his business, and above all else, he will always be observant. This Skill manifests as the inability to deter him from such a mode of being without his consent. The Valor of a doctor which provides protection against mental interference, and he gains bonuses to acts of observation and documentation. In the case of Hippocrates, he also benefits when it comes to surgical procedures, which are in essence prolonged rituals of healing. Pioneer of the Stars EX The unique Skill given to heroes that became turning points in human history. All difficult voyages and challenges which are considered "impossible" turn into "events that can be realized." To claim the salvation of healing for humanity, supplanting even Asclepius with his genius. Such is the turning point Hippocrates instigated, the exceeding of Authority through the actions of men. --- Noble Phantasm Asclepiad Kos Code Upholding The Standard Of Excellence Rank: D Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Range: - Targets: 1 The Asclepiad, descendents of the children of the Healing God, were sent to every corner of the Hellenistic world with a simple directive — ‘mend’, driven by the nanomachines contained within their biological makeup. What resulted was the development of a sort of ‘Magic Crest’ in the absence of the King of Magic’s influence, creating several notable lineages of healers throughout Greece, each coming to be known as the Asclepiad of their respective region. Hippocrates’ lineage, that of Kos, was renowned for transforming the respective Asclepiad into a creature comparable to a Divine Beast of mending. As the years of the gods waned in the twilight of BC, this aptitude slipped away along with the Mystery of the times. It still granted thaumaturgical prowess closer to that of one from the Age of Gods, but Hippocrates was largely unsatisfied with such a thing — it made one overly reliant on Mystery as a means of mending the body and soul, begging the question of what they were to do when it was all gone. The Kos Code was modified extensively through self-surgery. It manifests as a constantly active Noble Phantasm that allows Hippocrates to call upon the ‘correct tool’ for any medical treatment, manifesting objects and items as they are required Primum Non Nocere The Sterile World, Absent of Harm Rank: EX Type: Anti-World, Anti-Team Range: 15~60 Targets: ??? A world contained within the mind and soul of Hippocrates. It is a theorized vision of the future, and the destiny of the present. It exists as a realm where the ‘body’ is but a vessel, and the Will is what determines the fate of the individual; Hippocrates’ own Age of Will made apparent. The very embodiment of medical advancement, that which will inevitably surpass the concepts of Gods and Underworlds. Once deployed, it destroys all reason within an area and supplants it with the ideals of Hippocrates — chief among them that a doctor shall do no harm. All damage values from attacks and otherwise harmful effects are reduced to 0, although Hippocrates can still operate on those within the effects with full effectiveness as it is not considered ‘harm’ by the standards of the World Microcosm. The world will contort and bend to the end of resolving whatever is wrong with the so-called patient, or to the discovery of what is wrong. Fixing or taking things apart, a doctor can do both. It goes without saying that while inside this Reality Marble, Hippocrates must adhere to his own ideals and precepts as a doctor.
