So the way Leval has done it is rather than block it out entirely he used the flower as the equivalent of an illusory pressure vent translating the screaming voice into a subtle floral scent. Even then, it should only last a  couple days and wont do anything about the demon's control over her body. Just giving her a chance to have some quiet in her brain for the bit is the goal
