Originally the Itō Clan started as poison testers for the Lords across the lands. Since, then - they have learned to hone their gifts and hobbies, combining the two to create deadly and rare techniques. They are typically seen and revered as ones who hold themselves in high esteem, in everything they do they do with class and refinement. [s][i]And then there is Shion...[/i][/s] A humble, high class society of ninja, priests farmers and samurai alike living peacefully among themselves. Though what lies beneath the petals is a stem of the sharpest thorns and roots that are too stubborn to budge.

Shion grew up within a loving family, loyal and native to Konohagakure. She was the youngest child born to [url=https://i.pinimg.com/564x/f8/98/88/f898881d357a06da658918c6fc8a0b02.jpg]Itō Oboro & Megume[/url] - with two older brothers; [url=https://i.pinimg.com/564x/14/49/17/144917c598cff693012a90d0e5eb6f36.jpg]Takeshi[/url] & [url=https://i.pinimg.com/564x/e2/a6/4a/e2a64ad41a5d97e19a90efd27ebecbfd.jpg]Hideo[/url]. Life was great, filled with a lot of laughter and love and just all around great memories. It wasn't until the beginning of the last Ninja War that everything took a turn for the worse.

Shion had always been intelligent & strong-willed, and so she was on a fast track to becoming a chūnin at a young age - her team comprising of [url=https://i.imgur.com/LHqPHNJ.png]Kaminari Kenshin[/url] & _____. Her older brothers were already there, with Takeshi nearly to a Jonin status. When the War broke out and started it was no surprise that both of her brothers were called to arms along with their father. With her mother having little to no experience in fighting, she opted to stay in the village and help within the walls doing whatever it was that was needed of her there. Her mother tried to convince Shion to do the same and it worked. For a time.

Later on, the War called for more and more Shinobi to stand and fight for their homeland. Again, her mother refused, and even refused to give Shion up - though that wasn't her choice at the time. It wasn't a choice anymore. It was required of anyone not providing for the village within the walls - they had to join. And so that was what Shion did. Drafted into a war she was too young to really understand. Using what knowledge she did possess - which turned out to be quite useful to those around her, the veteran ninja made use of her as a scout. Sneaking as close to the enemies camps and reporting back with information. Only engaging if necessary. Both her teammates were promoted to chūnin and she was separated from them; however, she never could fully escape their orbits for very long - namely Kenshin's.

They were so close even before them joining the same squad - taking them back to when they were just children running around getting into too much trouble. Shion looked up to Satoshi just as much as he looked up to her older brothers. They'd always had a close familial bond, not just them but their families too. Eventually, with spending so much time with one another friendly feelings blossomed into more romantic feelings as they grew up. It didn't seem to halt on Shion's end - especially when they were sent to war. She wouldn't - couldn't stop worrying for his safety, as well as _____'s. He was in her head, just as much as she was in his.

It was towards the end of the war when the news reached her that her father and oldest brother were killed in a raid that had attacked their camp. Both she and Hideo - being in the same base with the other teams - were livid and flew into a rage; jumping headlong into a fight without planning and without backup really - without notifying the others of their teams. There were no less than 20 enemies that had surrounded them; eventually, Hideo ended up sacrificing himself, throwing his body over hers in order to protect her. As he died above her, in anguish, she released a toxic, poisonous aroma from any exposed skin of her body. The enemies that remained were heavily effected and were dead in a matter of minutes. The poison seeped into their skin, eyes, nose and mouth hindering them and causing a breakdown of their bodies from the inside.

Not long after using it, due to the exhaustion and stress, Shion passed out only to awake days later, in a cart heading back to the village. She was informed of her promotion to chūnin shortly after arriving back to Konoha; having been placed in enough life-threatening missions to warrant it. When she returned however, her mother was there to greet her; explaining what had happened - that her Kekkei Genkai had surfaced - and that the rest of their family was in fact gone. After returning home - things were never truly the same. Yet her friendship with Kenshin remained.

Since then, Shion went on and has completed her training to become a Jonin; she joined the ANBU forces and is a skilled tracker and scouting kunoichi. Though she spends the nights drinking and enjoying life to it's fullest, never knowing when it will come to an end - she does visit the Memorial Stone. Either meeting up with Kenshin or heading there together to drink and enjoy the peace that follows; reminiscing about [color=#c76897][i]'good times'[/i][/color] However, due to her constant drinking and lifestyle choices - she has been placed on probation because of some of her actions while drunk [color=#c76897][s][i]- don't ask she most likely won't tell you, but it had something to do with running through the village in the wee early hours naked and throwing flower petals at everything and everyone before passing out in the meadow.[/i][/s][/color].

So, here she is, living the best life she can now that she's been placed on babysitting duty. Definitely the type of person to make the kids do all the labor intensive work while she goes off to day drink or something. Ruffles the kids' heads, all in all just like the cool aunt vibe, but just doesn't wanna be there??? [color=#c76897][b][i]She totally loves them though. Because of the distance she is allowed while using the two together, it guarantees that she is a safe distance away - as well as her team. The heads of the clans were approached, during one of the Ninja Wars of the past, asking for more support and bodies in order to serve the Mizukage. The leaders of the Kiryu denied them anymore support as the war was coming to an end and therefore was no need to send more people to an unnecessary death, one with no honor. Kiryu Clan was given the ultimatum of submit, or perish. The threat contained the promise that their names and history would be wiped from all records - it would be as if they never existed in the first place. After speaking with the others of the clan, it was decided that they would feign submission in order to double cross their suppressors. However, their plan went to hell when they were betrayed within their own loyal ranks. Many died in an attempt to flee or fight. It was difficult to determine which were foe and which were not. They had been trapped by their own familial members as well as the enemy - loyal only to the Mizukage. The ones who were lucky enough to escape were typically hunted and then caught by the elite hunter-nin of Kiri and were dealt with swiftly. Anyone who did escape hasn't been heard from in over 30 years.

The only known surviving member of the Kiryu Clan was the son of the Clan head - [url=https://i.pinimg.com/originals/17/af/ba/17afba5a49a567cdbacd76cd595d7b83.gif]Kiryu Hitoshi[/url] - and Izayoi's father. He traveled to Konohagakure; defecting and swearing fealty to them. Hitoshi began his new life, growing up among the Leaf's genin; training hard to join himself. However it was a tad difficult in the beginning, seeing as he was ostracized for being an [i]"outsider"[/i]. However, during his time at the academy and training and working hard to prove himself to the rest of the village, he met and was befriended by [color=a587d5]Mochi Hagotae “The Leaf’s Lovable Soldier Ant”[/color]. Together they formed an inseparable duo. One was stoic and silent, the other rambunctious and sociable. It was through Hagotae that Hitoshi met and fell in love with his future wife, [url=https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b2/67/82/b267829c11b4b789dc26e3bfdeb100ea.gif]Mochi Momochira[/url] of the Mochi Clan. They were soon married and eventually started their family.

Hagotae has a daughter, [url=https://i.imgur.com/ZBa3kKd_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium]Mochi Kurimi[/url], Izayoi's cousin and closest friend. They would play and train and just get into trouble as all little shinobi do. They are practically inseparable just as their fathers are. Even now Kurimi tells her that it was all thanks to Izayoi that she's decided to solidify her resolve in pursuing the shinobi life. Being the louder and more rambunctious of the two girls, Izayoi would constantly drag around her cousin to play in the city or with the other shinobi's in training. It was during these times that, even though her cousin was shy and quiet, Iza was able to understand and speak with her on a mental and unspoken level. As they grew older, it didn't happen as much - however it was still nice to be able to just sit in one another's presence and not have to worry about conversations growing stale.

Before Izayoi was born into the world, she had two other siblings. They joined and fought in the War, both of them losing their lives and making life around the Kiryu house... different. Her father pushed her harder than he ever pushed his other daughters - hoping that the same fate would not befall Izayoi as it did the others. He wanted her to be stronger and to be able to take care of herself. Although his motives were... well warranted, Hitoshi didn't express it in the best ways. His relationship with his only surviving child was strained to say the least and when Izayoi grew older the rift between them became almost irreparable.

For the majority of Izayoi's life, her father has hidden his family's true origins. Where he came from, who is truly is. Mainly it was for fear of rejection and the potential death of his family if it were to get out that he hailed from a dead clan that once pledged itself to Kirigakure. So, he's kept quiet of the knowledge, planning on taking it to his grave. It wasn't until the anniversary of her sister's death where everything turned upside down. Training with her father, uncle and cousin; Mochi Hagotae & Mochi Kurimi - in bukijutsu. The girls had been worked ragged and as she went to take a small break, leaning against her father to catch her breath, it happened.

It was as if she were being transported deep inside Hitoshi's mind without ever meaning too. It was there, in that brief split moment where Izayoi realized that her father had lied to her all her life. When he finally was able to get her to listen to him, he told her the story of what happened there in the village all those years ago. How he had to leave in order to survive. But she didn't listen. She resents her father for running away from the fight. Blames him for the loss of growing up without being surrounded and encompassed by her heritage and roots and extended family. She feels robbed of the chance to have an even larger family and feels like her father should "practice what he preaches" - he's so hard on her, constantly telling her to "do better", "work harder", "not good enough"... So, now it's how she views her own work ethic - making sure that she is in the tip-top position she can be at all times. But also due to her father and his cowardice; at least that's what she sees and interprets, it's the reason her nindō is what it is.

Born under an inky black night sky, no moon in sight, she came into the world silent like her namesake. Her affinity towards the feline race was ever present in her features and thus growing up she took to their mannerisms as well.

At a very young age, Kuroo was given to Asami by her father, and the two became very close soon afterwards. Before entering the Academy, Asami and Kuroo played together a great deal, resulting in her father getting angry because they weren't training enough. During her time at the Academy, she often cut class with Kuroo, stating that she wasn't suited to sit still at a desk, or otherwise getting into trouble, along with the other rebellious students. Together, they would skip class and go to the practice hall (not to practice). They thought that it was fun to also test the patience of their Academy instructor. One day, Asami fell asleep during class and, upon waking, saw Shirou attempting to use the Transformation Technique for the first time, and failing twice. This caused Asami to find Shirou incompetent.

Because of her family and their ties and affiliation with felines, Asami is very much cat-like in all that she does. She is aloof and mischievous, yet comes to those she knows she can gain attention from before shutting them out once more and just as quickly. Her moods are always swaying and is never ideal. However, once her she has been slighted - even barely - she will hold the grudge until the perfect moment to seek retribution.
