I remember reading about a lot of issues regarding it years ago when I had a player who insisted on using it for every character they made to make them stand out, but my boomer brain could be remembering wrong. I looked up a few articles just now and it appears in most cases its typically benign, so that "remembering wrong" part seems to be more likely (or circumstantial).
