[INDENT]Brielle has led a fairly blessed and uneventful life. She was the second-born child of the queen’s second husband, making her third in line for the throne. With few worries regarding if she’d ever rule (her eldest sister Magdalene was [i]perfect[/i] for the role as queen), she got to do mostly as she pleased.

Her father, the [i]roi-consort[/i] Prince Christofeel Aaldenberg, was her go-to companion. An avid gardener, he taught her the ins and outs of plants and managing a garden starting when she was four and first showed an interest in the pretty flowers, even starting her on her own personal balcony garden when she was eight. He taught her how to ride a horse, and would sit in her bed with her and read her story after story in all the most animated voices. Those were some of Brie’s favorite memories, being cuddled up beside her father as he read to her.

With her sister Maylis she learned how to paint. When she got her first Instagram account she learned that paint didn’t just have to go on a canvas, and thus started to decorate her planters, candle holders, rocks, tree bark, her hands, and when he’d allow it, her father’s face and neck and hands and arms.

Ever the curious one, Brielle loved to go on adventures through the forests surrounding the winter and summer palaces. She would explore, collect rocks and flowers, climb trees, and generally do some unprincess-like things. Her mother did not approve, but her father encouraged it, even joining her on some of her first explorations when she was younger.

Things didn’t get truly interesting until 2012. Prince Christofeel noticed some swelling and a general feeling of unwell, and thus spoke with his doctor. After testing, it was confirmed. The [i]roi-consort[/i] was dying. Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The diagnosis shocked everyone, but Christofeel put on a brave face and smiled throughout all of it. If he could remain positive between the chemo and the radiation, then others could, too.

His favorite daughter spent as much time with him as she could. On days when he rested in bed a lot, she would take books and ask him to read to her. When he got too weak to continue reading to her, she started to read to him instead.

Prince Christofeel died in 2014 when he came down with pneumonia and wasn’t quite strong enough to fight it. It was said he died with the three loves of his life around him: his wife and his two lovers. Brielle was just outside the door, wishing she could be in there with him.

To her surprise, her mother remarried only two years later, a year after her oldest sister married. Brie knew the man to be a friend of her father’s, and thought he was nice, but felt it was much too soon to have a stepfather. Still, she didn’t complain. She just went about her life with that same cheer of her father’s, her bright positivity and optimism being the way she kept him alive. Sure, her mother seems to disapprove of her as much as her father had loved her, but…[/INDENT]
