While he is undoubtedly a gentleman, Yun is not to be taken lightly. In all his twenty-five years there has only been one person other than himself that he is loyal to. Aside from Princess Minagi, most other people are disposable toys to be played with. Any potential exceptions to that rule would, in theory, become pretty special to Yunru.

[color=8dc73f]Protective and war services[/color] are Yunru's calling and purpose both. He has trained for his position for his entire life, and is exceptionally skilled as a result. Graduating at the top of his squadron and assigned to Princess Minagi's security detail at a young age, Yunru has been working for the Cha clan for the majority of his life.

Yunru is [color=8dc73f]reliable, and can be trusted to get things done[/color]. He accomplishes his tasks gracefully and on his own time and terms, something that both frustrates and amuses the people around him. He gets from points A to B, sacrifices and roadblocks be damned. No cutting corners, and no rock is left unturned.

[color=8dc73f]Diplomacy and evolving small-talk[/color] are skills he picked up to keep up with the other members of the royal guard and has perfected over time. Yunru, in another life, was most likely a host or entertainer. With a voice like honey, he's had no trouble garnering attention or favor over the years. Employing this skill also serves to innocently [color=8dc73f]gather information[/color] in the meantime.

Good news; Yunru can and will eat or drink anyone under a table. Bad news; [color=8dc73f]Yunru will actively attempt to out-eat or out-drink people[/color]. He is a bottomless pit of a man. [color=8dc73f]Bribes[/color] of food or spirits that don't pose a threat to Minagi [color=8dc73f]are on the table[/color].

Has [color=8dc73f]no trouble separating his personal feelings or agenda from wrongful acts[/color]. If it needs doing, it'll get done. Sadly, this means he's something of a criminal. He reports directly to the Cha Clan/Minagi, however, who always absolve him of said crimes. He's only [i]working[/i], after all.

Yun [color=8dc73f]likes to sleep on the job[/color] when things get quiet. He sleeps light, of course, and is never far away, but he's easily [color=8dc73f]the laziest of men[/color] and would gladly introduce himself as such.

In a few words? Long, elegant, and powerful. Yunru's posture and long obsidian hair often give the illusion of his being a fair bit taller than he actually is, which says a lot, as he is naturally tall. It's quite rare to catch him without a smile, and even rarer that he isn't sprawled out taking a nap somewhere. He loves tattoos and is practically covered in them. Anything he wears will allow at least some of them to show, he's quite fond of his ink.

Bleak beginnings do not always beget grim futures, and this is equally true in Yunru's case. Born to a poor laborer in the Grain Kingdom and a member of the Hua'Mu royal guard, there were two outcomes possible for Yun and the chances of one were a great deal slimmer than the other. What were the odds that he'd be accepted by his father to begin with? 

When he was four years old, his mother decided to travel back into Hua'Mu with him in the hopes that she could find his father and ultimately give her son a better life. Unfortunately, this venture would bring them to the doorstep of one Yang Jin, captain of the Hua'Mu Royal Guard and also wealthy and married with several daughters at the time. His wife, no less awful than her husband, demanded he kill both Yunru and his mother, to which Jin only partially complied. He did kill Yunru's mother, but kept the boy despite his wife's protests.

The years that followed were not especially kind to Yun. His father, an ambitious coward, started his son's training very early on, and in an unorthodox way. Rather than train Yunru himself, Jin used his ties to a local monastery to get the monks to train his son. This way, Jin could not be penalized for putting a five-year-old boy through rigorous training before he was of proper age, and Yunru's step-mother would not have to look at her husband's bastard. This continued until Yunru [i]was[/i] of recognized age, and could be [s]shipped out to[/s] admitted to the knight academies.

During his first week of training, twelve-year-old Yunru met Princess Minagi for the first time. Believing he could not be bested by a mere girl, it was the first truly sobering lesson he'd learned in life; Yunru would [i]never[/i] underestimate women again. Being beaten down by her came with quite a few perks, save for being ridiculed by other boys for it. First, he eventually became friends with Minagi, both in awe of her abilities and never having had a friend or rival before. Secondly, he'd finally found a goal to work toward... The Hua'Mu Royal Guard. If he got in, he could quash his  father's reputation and stay with his best friend all at once.

Best believe Yunru poured every ounce of his blood sweat and tears into training, and was finally assigned to Princess Minagi's private security detail at the age of 16. Since then, he is rotated out sparingly (only for quick jobs) and otherwise left at Minagi's side.
