Catherine did not look at him when he winked. She shook her head no when asked about hiking and such.  She shook her head at volleyball. She shrugged at hanging out at the beach. She had never been to the beach. She sighed when he mentioned travel. 
"my father had promised us a trip to paris but then...."
She almost teared up.
