Feel free to focus on what is important for your character and the development you are hoping to get out of them with the story. That said a vast majority of this story will call back to their time at Hogwarts so having some depth to it so while I am not expecting anyone to have cured all the worlds problems in their time at the school they likely had some important things happen to them. No need to be super specific is the bottom line but do have an idea of what their life was like before and at school!
