[indent] The Montez family had a high name for themselves down in the southern state of Louisiana. A family who had helped build the state up from the ground up, and for generations after continued to carry their family name with pride. Alfredo was no different. He married early in his life to a younger woman named Matilda, and together they brought four children into the world. Twins Joshua and Benjamin, a younger son named Zachary and their youngest and only daughter Tace. 

The parents were very protective of their children, wanting only the best for them all, from clothes and shoes to their education. Education is what Matilda took into her own hands. The best tutor was hired for the children, while Matilda also took her daughter aside to also teach her ballet and piano. Two lessons Tace truly did not like; but she continued. 

Tace grew up under a strict household, almost old fashioned, but thanks to her father's name it made some sense. They had everything and anything they wanted, the money and the influence. She was the little princess, the baby of the family, and her parents did treasure her. Especially her father. But along with that, came pressure, and over protection. It wasn't often Tace and her siblings were out alone without their parents and if they were they were with one another. She never had many friends growing up, and if she did they would eventually move on to another city. 

Although it would appear that the protection her parents gave her, would not last. From the age of fifteen, Tace began to be groomed from the very same tutor who had taught her all those years. She began to become withdrawn, anxious and quite often argumentative with her family. It was only until one night when she was raped by the man, and a mere few weeks later it came out the young Montez girl was pregnant. 

Her parents were mortified, and only believed that she was making the whole story up, making up lies so that she wouldn't in as much trouble or be thrown out of the family home. Within a couple of weeks Tace had been basically shipped off to her uncle's, where he had helped her parents file in for her to attend public school, keeping her away until after she had the baby. 

Once she had moved in and settled into the spare room of her uncle's home, he assured her he would try and help her as much as he could all though financially, the man could only just afford his house, and that came after his six pack. But rest assured, Tace was offered a job at the diner, to help pay for medical expenses as well as save up for the upcoming baby.
