So this is what it was like on a meat market… Devin thought to himself while the woman sized him up. He understood wanting to know more about the people you work with, but he wondered how much practical knowledge in protection she learned in her time as a singer. Still she was nice enough and seemed more down to earth than most celebrities he saw on the news so that was something worth celebrating. He gave a slight blank stare when she mentioned getting to know each other during the tour. It was news to him that he had been signed on to more than a few shows in the East Coast. He looked over at Eric and frowned for a moment. His old friend giving him a sort of silent ‘don’t hate me’ look which was all Devin needed to see to realize he very likely had been hoodwinked. “Yeah well you will barely know I am here. I’ll be making sure the regular venue security does their job and we should be fine from there. If you have a problem with any of them or worry about something you just have to tell me and I will make sure it is handled.” Eric gave a small grin as he watched the two dance around each other. It looked almost like some sort of weird mating ritual you would see on nature shows. Upon dismissal the manager said his cheerful goodbye and left quickly so Devin couldn’t pin him to the wall and make him spill the beans on being signed up for more than a week. Instead he accepted the water from Savannah and took a seat over by the window. He then dragged the curtain to cover it and then stood back up moving towards the bed and leaning against the wall. “I listened to your music on the way over here.” He said remembering her song playing on the radio. “People are saying you are looking to dethrone Taylor Swift." He mused this last part. Not really meaning anything from it, making it sound like an observation more than a statement. “This your first time in NYC?”
