Well at the moment it makes sense to have shorter replies until we have something else to write about.  While I think of a good excuse to get our characters to climb Death Mountain Trail, our characters should probably have some more interaction in the village as well as establish their characters a bit more.  Maybe explore their families and situations a bit.
