[indent][hider=here]"Why do you think your hair does that?" He turns his head and looks over to one of his classmates whose name he could not place. Their asking of a question snapped him out of his 'writing trances' where he just haphazardly jots down random thoughts and ideas on paper. It was a bad habit, one he never really grew out, leaving ink marks all over his hand. 

[color=#A9A9A9]"Um.. I wasn't quite listening, sorry. Mind repeating?"[/color] Steven had the decency to come off as apologetic, he was the new kid and might as well put some effort into socializing and all that jazz. The whole class were all relatively unknown to him but he should try to keep in mind that went both ways. Nice begets nice or at least it should. 

"Your hair. Why do you think your hair turns blond? Pft." The other teen who he will call 'Whatitsname' until learning their name, didn't seem to take too much offense for being written off like that. 

[color=#A9A9A9]"Oh right, well- whenever my chains glow gold, my hair just matches it in color. A couple shades lighter actually but-"[/color] 

"No, no. That's HOW it turns blond, I'm asking WHY it does. Like your hair changing color doesn't sound all that related to being able to sprout metal chains out your hands, seems like a different quirk altogether."

That question did give him some pause to actually consider it for a moment. Since well it was his quirk, he supposed he never really wondered too much about it, like hardly anyone wonders why their arms or legs are the way are. [color=#A9A9A9]"I remember something the quirk specialist doctor said when my mom took me back the first time my chains glowed gold. You know when a wild animal sends clear signals to 'back off before I attack'? Well when both my chains and hair turn gold and blond, I'm like a rattlesnake with its rattle, a rhino stomping its feet, or a-"[/color]   

"Or a lion roaring! 'cuz y'know? A lion has a golden mane 'n stuff? That's pretty neat if you think of it like that," Whatsitsname bursts out and interrupted him yet again. Though Steven couldn't help but admit that it was kinda nice with what they said about Chain Body. He had a healthy ego and would like to keep it that way yet he always felt like he was a little bit too much prideful about his quirk. Don't try and argue creating and throwing around golden chains wasn't flashy. 

"Oh right! One last question."

[color=#A9A9A9]"Hm? Yeah, shoot."[/color] Hell, he might as well indulge Whatsitsname's curiosity a bit more. What was the worst that could happen?

"So do the carpets match the drapes too when you turn blonde?" Snap. The wooden pencil breaks in half in his grip while both his ears were starting to turn a bright shade of red, one to match his eyes. Steven thinks he'll maybe skip this question as he reaches into his bag for another pencil to continue writing.
